TRANSFORMERS: Devastation - Optimus Prime vs All Autobots - SS Rank (Prime Difficulty)

So I replayed TRANSFORMERS Devastation after some while. Man, I forgot how fun this game is. In fact I played this game so much to the point that I can safely say I mastered the combat system. At least I think I did :3. Still managed to pull of some sick combos, despite me going berserk all over the screen.
So for those worrying I won't upload any other Hack n' Slash gameplay cough Devil May Cry 4 *cough*, well I think this video will more than make up for it. Who knows, if some of you viewers like it I'll upload some more TRANSFORMERS Devastation gameplay.
Level is Challenge Mission 14 on Prime Difficulty (highest unlockable difficulty)

What I find most interesting is your creativity in combo making, which really stands out amongst other Transformers Devastation Players, including myself. Maybe that comes from playing DMC4 prior, which demands the player to create the stylish combos from a set of distinct abilities. Platnium's Title give players mostly straightforward dial combos, and some other amazing features that make combat much easier (Parrying, Dodging, Just Frame combos, etc.), and for the most part, even really good players do stick to some concepts more so than others (i.e. I usually do vehicle attack almost every time that I can, and Just Frame Shove or Spin Attacks are usually my main ideas for combo chains). Anyways, while you did take considerable damage, your combos, with the help of the excellent Confuse Ray, made up for your mistakes in spades.

+noble7jamie Well, I just like to experiment when playing games and even though I played DMC4 prior, I'm not that great at executing complex combos, though I still try to play as stylish as I can within my ability. Heck, I'd argue that Prince of Persia Warrior Within enticed me to play more stylish, even before I knew DMC was a thing. The thing that I like about Transformers Devastation is that while it looks rather simplistic at first glance, it offers lots of ways to play the game (different characters with their own abilities and own vehicle attacks at the end of combos which differ from each other, to different weapons and guns and even different playstyles), while being more inviting in regards to executing more complex combos. Not to mention the boss fights, which feel like actual boss fights, who not only fight back, but have a surprisingly large move pool. Even the basic enemies would be considered bosses in other games, if they had more health. As for me taking damage, that's just my playstyle. I'm rather aggressive when I play a HnS game, not just Transformers Devastation. I like to hit fast and hit hard, even at the expense of my own safety, kind of like a truck, that's why I stick with Optimus most of the time :)). Plus, what's a boss fight without some suspense. I know taking no damage takes lots of skill, but I like to entertain rather than actually show off my skills (even though I still try to do that too :D). And always worrying about doing no damage runs actually discourages me to play how I like and limits my playstyle.

The PS4 edition is by far the most expensive, but it's also the only console version with zero slowdowns and is backwards compatible on PS4. Me, I'm happy playing my 360 version on my 360, never been bothered by minute slowdown. Can't go wrong no matter the platform.

Fantastic, this is exactly what I wanted to see! Too many players stick to one or two patterns, many get by spamming vehicle attacks and don't even use a melee string. Yeah that works but it also sucks the fun right out of the game.

***** Damn straight. And you know what's funny. I found out about your channel and started watching your videos after I made this video. And I still didn't know how Overdrive works, that you can continue in vehicle mode after impact by holding down the transform button, or even drifting (yeah, I know, crazy) and so much more. I just went in, played the game, figured what works and what doesn't and developed my own playstyle. I never played Bayonetta before, because I don't own an Xbox 360 or Wii U and the PS3 version is terrible. I wish Platinum or SEGA would port Bayonetta to Steam and even the next-gen systems... Well, at least NieR Automata is coming to Steam, so that's good. Now, if you read all of this without falling asleep, I would like to ask you one last favor. Trust me, this will be only time I will ask you :D. I recently uploaded a video with gameplay from a platformer called Spark the electric jester. I don't know if platformers are up your alley, but I beg of you to watch it. It really encapsulates why I love video games so much. Wow, a number of things in this vid I never knew about! I didn't know Prime's ability at 0:26 set you up perfectly for a gun follow up, I didn't know the dial combo at 0:17 could go into a rush, and I didn't know you could vertically launch enemies with the dial combo at 1:39. More great stuff.

you know, after seeing how much damage one hit from an enemy can do to you in prime difficulty, in having second thoughts on trying to unlock prime. so i'd like some advice on what i should do before doing prime, because right now i still dont quite know what i'll be getting myself into.

If you want to survive Prime Difficulty, try equiping tech that gives you HP regen. How Devestation's damage system works is as follows. If say, you have for example 25% HP left, but you get hit with an attack that damages you for 80% HP, you won't die, you'll still have one sliver of HP left. Only after you're hit again you'll die. That way, if you have HP regen, it can regenerate to at least 10% HP so that you can tank another hit regardless of damage values. As for weapon loadout, depends on your playstyle, but I usually go with 2 melee weapons and 2 range weapons (one of them is a confuse spreadshot or slow gel gun, basically anything that can disable a target for a couple of seconds). Hope this helps. :)

Just unlocked magnus difficulty, nedd help with the loadout. (Been years since i played the game but... muscle memory how i managed to get there) i have been usin prime on commander and magnus mode is already so overwhelming, what is the optimal (ya see what i did there?) Loadout. As of now im using a B class star saber, an A class forge, and both fusion cannons, modded is a maxed out class C and the standaed is an A class

My choice is usually 2 melee weapons (either gauntlets and sword or sword and hammer) a close range disabling weapon (confuse spreadshot, freeze cannon or slow gel gun) and a long range weapon (dual pistols or sniper rifle).

Hey again, made it thru blitzwing...using bee... used cryo knives, devastator drills (SS and S class respectively) with the same A class modded fusion cannon and a weakening spreadshot.(this last one helped me a lot)

There is a challenge mission that deals with this. You would have to get to the challenge menu from the main menu, but the rewards on magnus and prime difficulties are rather rewarding
