Transformers Legacy United brings us Orion Pax and Megatron like you’ve never seen them before! Okay, well, Megatron you’ve seen like this before. This Fractured Friendship 2-Pack featured the future leader of the Autobots, Security Officer Orion Pax, and future Decepticon leader Gladiator Megatron. Captain Kyle reviews this set to see if you want to get it for your collection.
Orion Pax is the name of Optimus Prime prior to his taking the mantle of leadership of the Autobots, as originally shown in the G1 cartoon episode War Dawn. Megatron, according to comic origins, was a Gladiator from Tarn before starting an uprising that resulted in the birth of the Decepticon cause. In this San Diego Comic Con exclusive set, these previous roles are celebrated as a friendship comes to an end. It’s fractured, even. Captain Kyle examines both of these SDCC toys in detail, even if Megatron’s mold is really familiar.

The X's on Megatron's chest remind me of the stickers on the G1 toy's chest; the ones with the squigly lines.

Haha I was the "matrix in Bumblebee" guy on Reddit. Just for the record, it was Kingdom Rodimus Prime's Matrix. Some matrixes fit better than others, they seem to vary a little bit. While I don't have this Prime, I do have the Gamer one - that Matrix can fit inside BB's chest with the door closed but it flops around loose.

I think the SS86 Galvatron will be a slight retool of the Kingdom version, and better paint job. I think Megatron will finally be a new mold. One that's SS 86 Commander Prime's size, which looks way more cartoon robot accurate, but also turns into a great looking earth tank. Also, your Optimus in this video is definitely a retool of the video game Prime.

The mold has been used far too much, BUT I do prefer this to Miner Megatron… I would say he’s different enough due to the paint and accessories if it weren’t for recently having had that one.

Not to be contrarian, but as someone who has the og siege megatron and none of the subsequent repaints/remoulds, I was actually happy to get him. It also helps that I like the war paint vibe he's got going on. (But yeah, pax is still better overall)

Dinoking isn’t an SDCC exclusive. He’s this year’s PulseCon exclusive. He’ll be released next month so you haven’t missed out.

I dunno, when I look at the prices I can't help but lament when transformers had better finishes and paint. A little chrome would help out that Optimus and people might be thinking that Megatron would be more interesting when a little extra shine and sparkle.

Takara called the pre-war version of Megatron by that name. But it is usually used to refer to the Fallen Prime, from whom Megatron derived his name.

primes gun has something extra on it that you have to pull apart, and there should be a peg hole for the his ion cannon. gamer primes cannon can't normally hold the gun. back end of the truck is better then the gamer. definitely some changes. *I had to go look at my gamer prime and the top part is defintely remolded (makes sense since this orion pax?)

the extra component they added to convert it into a handheld blaster is not removable without pulling out a screw, so the removable hand truly is an orphan feature.
