the matrix is green because that's how it looks in the G1 Marvel comics

The colors are from the original design for galvatron before the movie went into production. Revisions were made to the design when the movie went into production but it was too late to change the toy. The green matrix is from the marvel comics. It was what Optimus had in the beginning of the comic and it was called the creation matrix, it let home give life to new auto bots like jetfire. It was used as the inspiration for the matrix of leadership in the movie. Thanks for the opportunity to nerd out! Love the video, great job!

He looks like that because the cartoon look was originally going to look like that but while the toy was in production there were further changes and they couldn't change on the toy in time for the movie.

my guess is they thought grey looked too close to megatron and they inverted the colors

I prefer the Gen Selects version over regular Galvatron. Mostly because I think K. Galvatron is too damn purple.
@spartanvenom5388 Жыл бұрын
I can understand that, I prefer it too; I also think the gray makes the design feel more like an upgrade to Megatron.

Now I really want this version of galvatron more than the regular purple version. So the reason for the toy colours being different is because of the constant changes in the designs and colours in the characters. E.g Ultra Magnus had the Delta Magnus colours in the commercials but it was later changed to the “regular” colours he is now.

Great review Jcc2224!!!!!! I'm thinking of using my copy of the Selects version of Galvatron as my Shattered Glass Galvatron figure, since I have SG Megatron. :D Keep on being amazing.

also, the comic galvatron is close to the toy color, but still so different I wouldn't call the g1 toy or the selects a "comic version".

Such awkward transforming skills bro! 😳

Transformers are a puzzle, and I love treating them like that. I don't "rehearse" the transformations for these videos, it wouldn't be any fun for me.

Hi can you please tell me what kind of paint you used for the crest, the painting technique you used, and if you had to apply any additional chemicals to achieve the stainless look? I painted the crest on mine as well but the end result looks more like weathered metal with wrinkling here and there.
@Jcc2224 Жыл бұрын
I got a Molotow Liquid Chrome Alcohol Paint Pump Marker, pressed it down to get some of the paint out into a mixing cup, and just painted it on with a brush, that's pretty much it! lol

G-wunner: Die cast is a lost art, they don't do die cast anymore waaah Me: Die cast is fucking terrible for transformers especially when it comes to posing them. Good luck getting a G1 die cast prime to pose the same way a modern Generations Selects Earthrise Prime could, or god forbid you try to get it to pose like Holiday Optimus Prime can pose.

Agreed - it also often requires paint that can scratch and peel (often in areas where it's highly likely to happen). If you use metal at all, I prefer metal for internal joints, load-bearing parts, and for weight in some critical spots for balance. The only thing I legitimately miss about "old school" designs is how parts locked into place when they reached the spot they needed to be for transformation - the very smoothness and articulation of modern figures means that a lot of little parts can be just slightly "off" from where they need to be, which means you have to kind of squeeze and finesse things a bit to get it to look and fit right. It was satisfying to ratchet a leg around and then feel that heavier "thunk" when it got to where it needed to be for its alt mode, and it definitely felt better than dealing with tabs - but it's an understandable trade-off.

What did you use to color his crest silver?
@Jcc22242 жыл бұрын
A molotow liquid chrome pen! If you do it make sure you squish some of the liquid chrome into a little pot and brush it on with a paintbrush.
