TFWiki tells you how to keep tracks of the identities of Goradora's parts. Each is named and colored after one of the other Predacons. The blue one is Barara, because Bakudora has blue. The green is Garara, because Gaidora has green(ish). Purple is Jurara, because Judora has purple. Burara because of Budora. Dorara is based on Dragotron; he's "Do-" because Japanese doesn't have a singular "dra" sound (Dragotron is "Doragotoron", thus "do-").

That’s be some marketing. Imagine an episode where either timetravel or cloning leads to each member of the team combining with himself to have three gestalts at once. Also works with the naming convention. “ChouKenzan” or “ChouGekisou” like “GoKenzan” or “GoGekisou”, and so on.

From what I've seen Optimus actually can only be the middle part. The leaders of the other 2 teams can form the head or the legs and but non of the other figures work in the combination with him. The armor is designed to fit over the head of the car guy or the lion guy and then fits over the entire torso to clip into the pants and helps hold the combined mode together. And ordnarily the 2 sets aren't interchangable with each other, it's really only the Car and the Lion who can combine with Optimus ExPrime cause they really need his armor to fully secure the connection between them. The connection points are slightly different so they aren't really secure if you try to mix and match them. I still really like these figures though despite their flaws. It's more interesting than anything we got out or RID2015.

You know what? If they want to do some fun “where did you come from?!” post-Legacy toys for 2026-onward, I say go right ahead and do some “Go! Universe” characters. The G1ification that so many people hate could actually fix many of the proportional problems on the Swordbots (Ganoh and Jinbu need actual waists BAD) AND the Predacons basically guarantee that we’d end up with their Beast Hunters toyline counterparts later on (and with Predaking, Darksteel, and Skylynx, you’d practically get nine designs for the price of three molds). Also, Optimus Exprime is such an insane design that I NEED to see what can be done with it at the Commander price point (we might be able to get an Astrotrain retool out of it). However, redoing the Swordbots is difficult for the same reason that the Energon Autobots are, and that’s the sheer amount of engineering needed to make them work. Kenzan, Jinbu, and Ganoh would all have to be Voyagers at the very least to be somewhat feasible, and I can’t imagine HasTak sacrificing a year’s worth of Leader Class budget so they can do all C-list Japan-exclusive blorbos. Either we get one member of each team per year (so they don’t eat up an entire year’s size class’s budget) and they get new 2-man combiner forms in order to make them more play-friendly or we have to sacrifice the combination entirely in favor of giving them more solid robot modes. I’d prefer the former.

Alternatively I could see the Go Swordbots as Core class. Maybe omit 2 of the combined modes and simplify the connections by using 5mm pegs and ports. Or keep them full sized and make them Weaponizers.

I think realistically we’d get some legacy energon autobots that do the combining and hastak just does some light retooling and repainting to recreate the main 3 from Go! As like a gen selects/buzzworthy 3 pack release

I suspect though I may be wrong, that it was Takara’s fucking with the toys that did it in for Prime. It’s easy to blame the dub cause we don’t like it, but the dub isn’t for us, it’s to make the show more appealing to what Takara thought their audiences would like

Though I will say, I own a single Arms Micron and I found it’s assembly fairly straightforward, though possibly requiring force to lock the pieces together a child may not have

As a show, GO! is nothing notable, but I am definitely one of the people who for the style of the new characters made for it. People question why the hell anyone would want GO! characters in Generations, but I adore the look of the Sword Bots and Shinobi Bots! Kenzan especially as he has such a cool look for a Police bot. I really don’t care if they kept the Combination ability, I would just love to see new takes on these boys that actually look and play good on their own!

Favorite Japan exclusive line. As flawed as they are the samurai and shinobi bots are some of my favorite transformers teams. The gimmick is fun and very strange in a good way.

Great episode! 😊🎉 Managed to capture all the GO! Predacons (save the Legion Class set) from this line. Very awesome to have them all posed (real evil looking) standing with their 'leader', Hunter Nemesis. Both the Dragontron & Guren Dragontron are splendid in their Japan colours when displayed side by side with their international counterparts from the Voyager & Ultimate size classes. (PS. Some of the other TF Prime toys also came out in the Adventure line in truer decos.)

Optimus Ex Prime combined as the midsection with the two group leaders only, had two possible combinations with two different armor pieces. He basically linked the two teams together.

Mild correction. The sets aren't interchangeable normally (TRDQ's Gavin learned that the hard way). Optimus ExPrime only forms the middle section, which has both connections to allow both teams to interact

7:10 With Optimus, you *can* tell an easy difference between Hasbro's TFP Beast Hunters figure and Takara version for Transformers Go. Blue windows all around on the Takara version, instead Hasbro's uglier and mismatched color choices of green windows on the front and yellow windows on the doors. Plus, with the front windows being the same translucent plastic used for his eyes and Star Saber sword, naturally those are blue instead of green now.

I wonder what role deciding to make one of the more serious Transformers entries go with a parody dub played in Prime not doing well in Japan? One of the baddies on each Predacon team could also create clones Shrapnel style, building up the fight scene cannon fodder for the Autobots chasing CD looking "mirrors" through time via warps that opened out of nowhere. It's an interesting direct to video series.

I have some of the go hunter figures. Go shockwave has a different shade of purple and his hightlights are a different colour. I never did open mine. He looks too nice. That said, i have Ratchet, Soundwave, Starscream, the thundertron and predaking repaints. Can honestly say, love them all.

I love the Unicron Trilogy and Japanese G1 series so I thought Go would be cool. I mean, people hate on Energon and Headmasters and I love both, certainly more than Prime. Big mistake, as Go turned out to be the most boring TF show I ever seen. Kids interacting with Japanese historical figures was actually more interesting and fun to watch than anything to do with Transformers in this show, they have no personality and fight exclusively by repeating the same animation over and over.

Japan has done over 6 decades of transformers shows in same way with power rangers Japan as well known for cartoons and live action Godzilla movies my farther was in the navy was there shows me VHS tapes it was excellent stories about the transformers and power rangers when a company in Hollywood bought the shows an change the whole thing upside down they decided to take away the stories 1982 rhino company and power rangers later screw up the fact about the characters
