Mrs. Skullface is so supportive of your hobby! She is awesome. I would love to see a video that she puts on by herself, talking directly to the wives of collectors, offering a bit of sympathy, a bit of empathy, and explaining we collector nerds to our wives! Our wives deserve a lot of appreciation for putting up with our hobbies.

This is outstanding my friend and very much alive. The calmness is the issue you have I believe. For me, when I think of the oil rig scene I immediately think of fire. If the back ground was an orange/red instead of blue to represent the fire it might give it what you’re looking for. It’s a magnificent job.

WOW!!!! Very cool. Your vision of how you feel something should look comes across spot on in a lot of your dioramas. Your Star Wars Black Series collection looks incredible staged in them. I bet your collection as a whole would thank you if they could. AWESOMENESS!

I thnk this is the only one I've seen where I'm not sure it works. It doesn't instantly evoke the scene to me, maybe because it looks cramped rather than being more open spaced. Still well beyond anything I could produce tho man. Thanks for sharing it.

that's ok Bobby the passion is there, Diorama Customizing involves alot of trial and Error, experimenting with different techniques , there are many online tutorials online creating realistic environments ,weathering effects etc check for a specialty hobby store near yourself the ones that sell scale Model Planes and Trains (maybe even a Michales), as they have many ideas for dioramas, Plastic Trees, leaves, cardboard sheets / Styrofoam rocks and stones that mimic the metal counterparts, Asphalt etc etc again , depends on your budget on how far you want to go with your custom work

Agreed about the clouds. Looks great tho. I still feel like having a battle scene would really make this stand out, but I understand it might not be feasible with the space limitations.

You and your wife did an excellent job on the display! To make some suggestions to make it not grind your gears on it's appearance, I would remove maybe half the figures, so it won't look so crowded and/or small, or go the opposite route from masterpiece and use legends scale figures to give the rig diorama a sense of size. Anyway, just some suggestions!

It's the quantity of blue, definitely. It almost looks like you're backlighting with UV. Still pops! Oh! And get your lady a glue pot! Balancing the gun on her leg was making me wince! LOL!

I think it also come down to who's in the scene as well. A mixture of small and big bots adds a level of size break up that helps as well visually. But nice jobs always.

We are always our own worst critics lol. Great effort and I see what you mean with the use of space and making this one look "too busy". However it is an oil rig and they were fighting on it so I think it would almost be expected to look busy. Honestly, I expected to see more "debris and damage" in this one lol. I love all your dios and they look great!

The actual rig works fine. The only problem you have is that there's way too much blue. I think just fix the background so instead of a blue wall it gives the illusion of the ocean behind them with the sun/clouds/sky horizon and it would look so much better.

Not bad. Kinda crowded. But still pretty good. Maybe remove trailbreaker and windcharger. Ans space them out should look a little better. But still looks very good. I also agree that its really the only way to display figures is in a dirorama. They just look better that way.

Why are you never displaying them in vehicule mode? That would make sone Diormamas more interesting with like a place for a car, or Seaspray on the water etc... That way you can change the display when you want by having different bots in different modes and that would make the Diormama feel more "alive" imo. I feel like switching modes is what makes Transformers always fun and fresh display whise

I don’t want a high quality diorama. I put a lot of work into some of my Star Wars dioramas, and I find they overpower the figures, and tend to take away from the figures. Which is fine for 3.75 Star Wars figures. I don’t want that with my MP transformers. I want my eye to go to the figures, not the background.

Hey brother I'm a professional artists and Sculptor and illustrator. Just wanted to give you a a heads up on some advice to complete the illusion of your oil rig. Perhaps the biggest thing that lets somebody immediately know that you're working with an oil rig or viewing an oil rig isn't necessarily the platform or the equipment on top of the platform but the legs the long buttressed support structures with the criss cross beams. Now it doesn't look like you have a lot of room but from what I saw those were almost non-existent I would say if you made them 2 in tall until even if you just put two on the front one on each side that's really really going to make it look more like a an oil rig for you. But I also thought it looked really great and thank you did an awesome job as it is. Just figured I'd throw a little bit of helpful advice out there for you to take or leave. Again thanks for being a friendly voice for this awesome Hobby!
