This Optimus prime is phenomenal. I brought 2 of each. They're pricey 😮 but l had to pull the trigger lol😅. Takara need to keep this line going for future releases. If takara reissues this g1 figures particularly the autobots, collectors like myself will buy it's a no brainer. Prowl, Jazz, mirage and Megatron are a must have . I like Missing Link C-01 G1 Optimus Prime a lot better than the C-02 version. C-01 is truly a homage to the original Diaclone Battle Convoy/G1 Optimus Prime figure. I also like C-01 a lot better without the matrix of leadership and without the matrix chamber and without the energon axe because the original Diaclone Battle Convy/G1 Optimus Prime figure never had a matrix of leadership, no matrix chamber and no energon axe.

I think a Missing Link Gun Megatron could work, and I’m sure they will probably. But imagine they made a retro Tank Megatron designed to look like he was meant to be in the same toyline as Prime. Something like G2 Tank Megatron but stylized to have the G1 toy accurate head and colors

Bad luck for me. My C01 unit have issue with the right leg. It can't kick/move out to the side. The joint is like freaking tight and im afraid i might break the plastic part that holding the leg. Talk about premium price and im having uninvited STRESS!

The only thing I would add to this figure is making the grill section slide back about 5 mm or so. It would improve the look of the figure considerably

I honestly don't really get the appeal of this thing. If you want an 'updated' Optimus Prime toy, just buy the Masterpiece. I thought that was the niche that Masterpiece was supposed to fill - providing adult collectors with an updated version of the character with modern engineering. To me this thing does nothing well - it's neither a true representation of the original toy because it has been altered heavily, nor is it anywhere near as good of a modernized version of the character as the Masterpiece is - so what's the point? If you have the G1, and you have the Masterpiece, what do you need this thing for??

I honestly think you think too much. This appeals to anyone who likes the original toys but you get a bonus in the fact that it has extra features, more posability and better quality.
