Fans have forgotten that in Japan, these guys ARE G1 characters. Just that they came from the future. Long story short, Car Robots in Japan is in fact in continuity with their ver. of G1. It was a direct sequel to Beast Wars Neo and some production notes showcased Fire Convoy having a Maximal signal which is why he's after the Preds/Destronger. 2:58, and as a clear cut, Orion Pax's original design notes by Floro Dery calls him Ultra Magnus but he had wings and looked like a Valkyrie. 4:35, looks like Geppetto has wished him to be a REAL BOY! ^_^

@@ToyKennections The Japanese continuity does a pretty good job in making the timeline work and since Omega Prime comes after Unicron's death kinda makes me wonder if the Prime council in Beast Wars Neo counted both Brave Maximus and God Five Convoy to be Cybertron's last line of defense had Unicron and his Blendtrons came into the picture but some pieces were gone before they could even get to that conclusion. We just need a monkey Transformer (which isn't hard considering there might be primate Maximals still on Cybertron after Unicron and Galvatron's obliteration), a cricket and maybe a cat and a fish and we're all good to film Blue Boltz' animated premiere called the 'Blue Pinocchio'. Or we just put him on a Dreamworkz movie and he'd make a great side character while I get an ogre called Blot and make Shrek out of him.

In the G1 manga, Ultra Magnus is implied to be something of a younger brother to Optimus, and Car Robots was channeling a sorta sibling rivalry.

I had some of those RID Transformers, I think they are very underrated by G1 Fans, it's almost a forgotten pocket of TF lore I have found.

There's a whole video of who's who by RodimusPrimal and Chris McFeely. 2 if you count Dion and Ultra Magnus vids by Chris McFeely because..yeah the history of Dion is all over the place.

@ZZtheDark in order for it to be _"implied"_ a creator of some sort of officially released, or at least developed, media (like writers, artists, animators, etc.) would have to had done the implying... outsiders would be merely *_speculating._* I've seen & read about Dion potentially being Roller (RPrimal might've been one of the vids that touched on that example), but that's speculative, albeit interesting. So, I'm interested in knowing source material that might "imply" the claim. Optimus calling someone "old friend" by itself isn't enough to support an implication of them being Dion without the accompaniment of other info provided by an official creative (again, whether it being officially released or drafted). Not saying it doesn't exist, but want to know what specific connections are to substantiate that particular claim.
