I like how this narration paired with what we know about TFOne makes it seem like Ratchet is deliberately omitting information or changing details to make Megatron seem less sympathetic. Like framing him as a gladiator to make his descent into violence seem more plausible when we know he was just a miner, or more egregiously claiming that Megatron demanded the violent removal of the high council and his induction as a Prime when that never happened at all: he only started his violent crusade after learning about what Sentinel had done to the Primes and how he subjugated the Cybertronians. EDIT: Yes I know they're different continuities. Just a cool thought experiment

Assuming you are serious, I actually see this movie as a new take on the origin story's many tellings, combining many elements into one story, and it is a separate universe from everything that has come before. I personally believe the TFPrime version being told by Ratchet was intended to be accurate for that universe. But as a thought experiment, yes, it would be interesting if these stories were connected, and Ratchet tried to smooth the edges.

I like the idea that the legend of how Orion became Optimus and Megatron lead the decepticon is mythologized because only four people know the full story. Orion spent a lot of time in the Iacon archive = must have been a data clerk Megatron was good at brawling and that's through it he gained loyalty = must have been a gladiator

Seriosuly though, if they make a sequel to Transformers One, they have to include Ratchet and other known Autobots. Oh, and you have to have Optimus be voiced by Peter Cullen this time. Chris Hemsworth did the the best he could as a young Orion Pax and Optimus, but Cullen has to come back. That's just a must.
