Transformers Prime Review - Orion Pax

I love the scene where Optimus notices the Deception logo on his shoulder, and he's just like "Well. That's unusual." Really, it blows my mind with how different Orion is from Optimus. Wheras Optimus is this hardened, grizzled, and cautious warrior, Orion couldn't be more different. He's innocent, naive, more trusting, and even more open emotionally. That scene where Megatron threatens to carve out his spark unless he resumes work, he looked genuinely terrified and helpless. Optimus would've just been bored by that threat. Again, the differences just blow my frigging mind! Man, i would've killed to see Orion interact with the Autobots.

It blows my mind with how different the show's team managed to make Optimus and Orion. Orion is this young, trusting, naive bot, nothing like the grizzled War hero he'd become later. Orion openly expresses his emotions, is more revealing with his fear and being VERY hesitant to speak out. He's just so timid. He's scared. But in spite of his fear, he follows his heart, even when directly threatened for doing so, proving that Optimus Prime couldn't exist without Orion Pax.

I loved the 3-parter, but it really should have shown Orion and megatron’s relationship. It would have been interesting to see Megatron trying to control both his desire to kill him and to maybe renew their friendship

well in the absence of Jazz, Prowl, Ironhide, Jetfire Ratchet would come to take command in Optimus absence (and let's be honest if Ratchet really wanted to take command, he would do it very Badass and incredible, it's like in BW if Rhinox wanted to take over hand would also be splendid, but unfortunately none of them want to be a leader, or take such a role in the group, and in part it is because they admire, respect, and love their own or respected Optimus, that they decide better to give that role to their Optimus instead of them taking the role of their own free will, rather they do it if the circumstances require it for the XD team) PS: I swear to you in my personal opinion Ratchet and Rhinox would literally be everything from politicians (and the good ones), leaders, doctors and inventors (they already are), teachers (also in a certain way they already are), soldiers and warriors (They already are), philosophers and spiritual (well Rhinox already is, Ratchet still needs to work a little on that but he is on the right track), and well, much more than now I can't remember T_T,and I share with you that they had shown more friendship or comradeship between Orion Pax and Megatronus (even though they are Optimus and Megatron now),seriously TFPrime had so much potential in many things and they did not work on them, that's a way to throw away the potential of a series.

A great multiparter but my big complaint with the episode has always been how despite being the Decepticon leader, Megatron can keep up a convincing lie. He can't say I don't know, Ratchet captured Orion during stasis, brainwashed him and acted as a his proxy to lead the Autobots as a false prime for the autobots to rally around? I know the idea is that they have to get Optimus back for the show to continue but it would've been better if Megatron could've been a little more duplicitous rather than being such a tyrannical meathead.
