I personally LOVE the new Homogenized packaging, it not only feels more uniform and display savvy, but it really looks like quality product. The Legacy style open packaging was really just too brash and obnoxious , in its colors, logo, and shape, and I’m really glad it’s going away for Age of the Primes

They mentioned that the spare parts of Devastator are going to combine into some sort of trailer and they kind of hinted that it might be a character like Bluebolt is. That's why they said the commander was going to be a good value package, as you're technically getting 3 characters.

@@brettwood1351 Obvious answer for Onslaught and Hot Spot is to have them split off into 'trailer' components, like Motormaster. More likely with Onslaught (who has a literal trailer) but Hot Spot could pull it off too, just take a chunk of the firetruck off and turn it into a base thingy.

I am almost dead certain Megatronus is a pretool/retool of '86 Megatron. That cannon barrel in tank mode has a sight on it and is almost one-to-one with Megatron's gun muzzle in terms of sculpt, and the general proportions of the figure align with Megatron's proportions in the movie.

One thing to note: Studio Series only had three waves in 2019 and 2020 respectively. And I noticed in 2021 and 2023 that in order to make up for 4 waves a year, the amount of figures in each was severely reduced. Studio Series in the past couple of years, only had two Deluxes per wave. So in that regard, its good to knwo the waves will at least be more nourished, as opposed to sprinkling it out to pad out the toyline to have 4 waves

I watched a video the other day from an independent retailer and he says all the big stores order their stock directly from the factory, as it costs less in shipping ect, and then they distribute it themselves to their own stores, so it might not actually be a Hasbro thing. Considering that liege, Maximo is going to be based on his G2 design I’m guessing for the ones that have designs prior to the aligned continuity, they’re going to use those for inspiration with that I still believe that Nexus prime is going to be an energon combiner and then they’re going to turn The components into two of the three combiner teams from that era

I think TJ's theory about them retooling the Aerialbots and Combaticons into Nexus Prime is far more likely. I just don't see them doing brand new molds based on their Energon versions just for Nexus, even though that was his original toy.

@ The main reason I don’t think TJ’s idea that they were going to retool the G1 aerial bots and the G1 combat cons/2001 robots in disguise commandos it’s because we haven’t gotten an announcement/leak for the latter and let’s face it when it comes to eventual retool/recolors. We can usually expect what they’re going to be right away even if it is years away I mean, look at the Dino force and how long we actually got that from the first reveal of the first core class Dino bot and plus a production value just seems like the cheaper option TJ idea means Hasbro would have to produce two combiner teams and release it in what three years that seems like a lot of effort just for a retool that basically only collectors would realistically want I mean the fallen looks like a retool of Armada Megatron, but I might be wrong about that anyway, considering that the maximus combiners are literally just three molds and the fact that some fans were wondering why energon one of the least represented in Legacy this feels like a good way to give them some love and the last thing let’s face it when it comes to combiner teams a problem is that you could argue combiner wars suffered from is getting more used his out of the molds and let’s face it some of the returning characters to fit the gimmick worn exactly what some fans were waiting for my idea basically just gives them three uses right off the bat and if they’re going to do what they recolor them to look like their G1 counterparts look the big point is we need to ask what is going to be cheaper

@@Trebleshot Taking a look at the original Energon toy... Actually there's a lot there I hope gets changed if they go that route. Forgot how bad the hand and foot parts were. And that's a LOT of clear plastic. So from there it depends on the engineering of the individual components, and what can be remolded how. I'd say the Turret for Brawl into a AA tank, Vortex and whichever two Arielbots they go with don't need much. Onslaught... They might actually need to do a lot, but might be something they can pull off depending on how he's done.

I've had all of my blast effects stored inside my Earthrise Optimus trailer and I've NEVER had an issue with any plastic melting. And this video is the first time I've ever heard of it. Up until now, the only thing I heard from other collectors is that the soft PVC tires on Legacy Beachcomber apparently melted the paint on some other figure. And to this day I've never actually seen a photo of the alleged melting. Has anyone else ever seen any of this happening.

From what I understand, the blast effects only melt on painted plastic. I’ve only had this happen to my SS86 Hot Rod’s Matrix.

I'll say another thing: Studio Series not touching Age Of Extinction and The Last Knight in its early years doesn't really have to do with the movies themselves bombing the brand, but rather that Studio Series was conceived during the tenure of both of those movies. You can see the writing on the wall in some of The Last Knight's toys; some of the DNA of Studio Series was starting to show up in figures: the focus on screen accurate sculpting, sticking closer to the movies' CGI models. And as The Last Knight reused molds from Age Of Extinction, they decided to let time pass to update characters like Galvatron, Crosshairs, Hot Rod

A little while ago on the transformers subreddit someone posted a picture of a transformers OC who was a steamroller that looked like she had giant breasts in her robot mode, and she received much love in the comments, but some wondered how her transformation would work. Looking at how they made Bonecrusher here, pretty much that. Just replace the scoop with the big roller wheel which will be the thing that ends up on the character's chest and change the other stuff around to look like a steamroller instead of a bulldozer

i don't think that 13th figure is star convoy, the chest just isn't accurate at all and you'd need that since it's a super prominent feature of the design i think it's JUST the 13th prime, as an original design that looks a lot like optimus prime, so they can sell it as a leader class premold for optimus, with the core cab being a core class sized bot, since he's lined up next to two other leaders

Me when I see the Fallen: *this pain PERSISTS i can't RESIST BUT THAT'S WHAT IT TAKES TO BE INFINITE!!!!!1111!* All "ow the edge" jokes aside, the Fallen is a very welcome sign of things to come. It's an excellent translation of the Dreamwave design into plastic form, the addition of purple really makes him pop (perhaps an RID 2015 nod, but maybe it's just there for brand synergy with TFOne Megatons), his tank mode is a great proto-Megatron tank mode, and his Requiem Blaster and stabby stick look solid. Sure, he might look puny in his very much oversized box, but he looks like one of the most solid Generations Leader Class figures in a while. If the rest of the Primes are as good as this guy, then I might end up going for more of them than initially expected. Given how faithful the Fallen is to his Dreamwave design, this opens up the potential for many of the Thirteen to be universe-specific. Micronus is probably going to be RID 2015-inspired (Origin Bumblebee retool maybe?), Onyx is undoubtedly going to be IDW-based (with an alt Shockwave head), Alpha Trion might be a United Thundertron retool (BRAND SYNERGY), Quintus could be inspired by his EarthSpark design, and Alchemist could just be a straight Cyberverse Maccadam figure and no one would complain. We've already got confirmation that two of the Thirteen are going to be straight adaptations of their original designs (Liege Maximo my beloved), so why not go all out and give the rest of them designs people might recognize? The only real outliers among the Thirteen in AOTP and its follow-up (if Star Convoy is number 13) are Prima, Solus, Amalgamous and Nexus. Prima really only has 2007 protoform Optimus as a workable in-fiction design, and I've heard theories that he'll be used as the basis for that Domitius Major... erm, Hearts of Steel Optimus exclusive to Pulse next year. I had a theory that Solus was going to be a pretool for a new Cybertron base form Scattorshot (with her hammer being made from Scattorshot's turret), but given how awful the Walmart capsule Sideways might turn out if there isn't a good mold for him to work off of, I have a hunch that she'll be the sacrificial lamb used to make Sideways. That just leaves Amalgamous and Nexus. Amalgamous being a pretool for either Car Robots Gigatron or G1 Quickswitch could work very well since both have a lot of wiggle room that would let him turn into anything. In a worst case scenario, Nexus is a heavy retool of a gaggle of Aerialbot and Combaticon bits. However, I have two alternate Nexus theories. He could be either 1) an homage to Diaclone Gats Blocker (which would allow them to do a more Aligned version of Nexus) or 2) a pretool for a Titan Class Energon Optimus (using SG Heatwave as its core bot).

When allowed to play, the Designers and Engineers that make Transformers can make some truly unique and wonderful things ... Then we get the AoE/ TLK Optimus figure in Studio Series and go "Oh you crazy kids lol" I never got Combiner wars Devastator, so this new one is a yes for me. Megatronus is a day 1 pre-order Star Convoy being the fully reborn 13th needs to be made canon.

I love the Titanium series. I know I'm one of, like, 4 people who do... But I do. Fallen, Grimlock, Prowl, Thrust, etc they're beautiful sculpts in their own way. Even WFC Prime vs Megatron is a great two bot package that actually looks great presented unopened on the shelf. PS will definitely be picking up Megatronus and the Constructicons. Slowly winding down my collecting as the medical condition dictates but I intend to enjoy it to the end.

While I don't think I'll be able to invest in a $200+ dollar figure next year, that Devastator looks absolutely amazing. Having all six of them be seemingly quite far along in development before any release should hopefully let us avoid the quality drop-off that the later Menasor limbs suffered from. The combined form relies a lot on combiner kibble, but god damn the finished result looks nice, so if the kibble has a good combined form I think it'll still come off really nice.

If Hasbro is using something more like TPU for those flexi parts like on The Fallen then we don't have to worry as much about it degrading the plastic over time, they are safe to be in contact with one another if what I'm seeing on the 3D print front is anything to go off of. The new box style for studio series i think is more fitting for the gamer edition. While the packaging that we use to, the current one, is more fitting for movie verse and 86 line. As far as the age of the primes i agree with you. It should have more character to it to signify the difference from the studio series.

I'm cautiously optimistic on the Fallen and Devastator, but will wait for reviews first. I will say that comparing Menasor to Devastator, Menasor seems like the better deal. They do end up being comparable in price, thankfully. Menasor is $190, Devastator is $210. Of course, at that price, they could have just made Devastator a Titan class to simplify things.

I still have not seen Optimus Primal show up in any stores. That figure got a package refresh and I have not seen the original release or the rerelease ever hit stores. I think eliminating the package refreshes would actually make things harder not easier. I'd be shocked if I ever manage to find Apelinq before I manage to find the original version of that mold. I want the Optimus Primal. I like Apelinq but he's kind of a nothing character who exists just to die at the beginning of the movie. And I LOVE that Fallen design, I'm getting him. I do kind of want a complete the set of the 13 but I think prices and my budget will prevent me from having a complete set of the 13 but I am going after that one because I love that design.

Imagine, for a second, a leader-class Powermaster Optimus Prime that can do all the things Powermaster Optimus Prime can do by himself (cab combines with trailer to form super robot). Now, imagine that Leader Powermaster Optimus Prime combining again with a Titan Class trailer to form Star Convoy (The titan will not need the leader but there's space in it's chest to accommodate one). Now imagine that Leader Class Powermaster Optimus Prime is also a Titan Master.

All these reveals are awesome! I honestly dont mind us losing a wave of figures a year. It almost makes me wonder if they are cutting the waves due to a cost and time cutting measure that doesnt affect the toys as much?(i dont know enough about business or manufacturing yet to truly know, so please correct me if you do)

Scrapper and Bonecrusher look great. The full Devastator looks pretty good so far. I didn't get the Stunticons, since I was still on the fence about returning to collecting at the time, and Motormaster cost $90. I was also majorly disappointed that Breakdown was just a retool of Wildrider and doesn't look like a Lamborghini Countach. But I might actually get Devastator, it seems like more effort went into him. Packaging is OK, Transformers logo is kinda plain. I don't like that the 86 movie logo is just white. The current packaging looks a lot better (aside from the open window.) Why aren't Hasbro and Takara doing anything about Prime vs Prime? I don't mind a lack of package refreshes and waves lasting longer, if the toys aren't underproduced. It will be annoying if this makes it even harder to get certain characters.

AoE OP looks a bit too blue but maybe it's the pose. I would have preferred an upscaled version of the TLK Voyager class OP with new eyes. Bumblebee is a huge surprise to me. I thought it's going to be the Willy's Jeep B-127 with the masked head of the Cybertronian version. But this pushes open the door for redoes in the Studio Series (glancing at SS RotB figures). Megatronus looks like a retool of the SIEGE Megatron mold. The transformation looks very similar: front treads turning into backpack, arms into tank turret with cannon between the arms, feet on th back of the rear treads. And maybe they'll turn him into Turmoil. His lance remings me of RID 2015 Megatronus. Did any other Megatronus or The Fallen have such a melee weapon? And I really like the name. It's not either Megatronus or The Fallen anymore. It's describing who he is and what he has become or happened to him. And if you want only Megatronus then just leave off the effect parts. Liege Maximo's design reminds a bit of TLK Megatron and his proportions of LE Tarn so might be a retool of him.
