Very nice figure. I think the design is a great homage to the G1 Pretender shell and robot form of Bludgeon. The skeletal arms and legs are a nice touch. The sculpted details, as the norm for the movie line toys, are great and they seem to come out more in this figure. Great review!

the toy is based on concept art by none other than Don Figueora, one of the greatest transformer artists ever to live. when he designs a transformer, its pretty much guaranteed to be awesome.

If you buy this guy, his smaller sword is actually in his hidden scabbard in tank mode, not in the sheath at the side of the tank like in this video. You can indeed keep it in the scabbard even when it is hidden within the turret. I bought this at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport Domestic Flight Departures area (near the entrance/exit). They got loads of Bludgeon and Recon Ironhide there, along with plenty of Human Alliance figures.

I think KLIA is an 'exclusive' area that can get stuff not available elsewhere yet. The shop selling it belongs to the airport. It will probably be available in Malaysia in 2010 like everywhere else.

They are. Hailstorm is Scout class (small), Brawl is Deluxe (medium), and Bludgeon is Voyager (biggish)

Bludgeon was an awesome character! I had the issue of the Generation 2 comic where he was brutally massacred by Megatron!

the thing thatbugs me is that all the new rotf have the white plastic thing going on ( jungle ironhiide's upgrades are white , bledgeon's swords and tiny gun are white too :( but the awesomeness of the toy makes up for it)

It makes sense if you just use a little logic- The Samurai had to bulk up in armor, chains, and helmets, so when they were on horseback, they were sorta like mini-tanks, hence why he is a tank. Use logic people.

The first movie also had less TFs in the movie. With ROTF we get loads of figures that weren't in while there aren't figures yet of all the TF's that were in the movie. For instance Scrapper, Hightower, Overload, a red Rampage, grey Demolishot, Reedman, the Protoform Decepticons in Egypt. (not counting the Legends constructicons). I don't mind non-movie figures but first make figures of all the ones that were in the movie. Or at least base them on vehicles/equipment seen in the movie.

I like pretenders, the idea has so much potential. I think they could ake pretenders Unicron's race of TFs and they could go to war with the Cybertronians, it should happen one day, still hve autobots vs Decepticons but as the series gets into the final few episodes it should be Cybertron VS Unicron

got Banzaitron today... agree with the legs it's a pity. But I love it anyway, neat transformation, nice colors and details, and it was really cheap for a voyager (13€ = 18$) At the shop there's also Payload, The fallen, Optimus Prime and that weird green and grey plane (don't remember the name). At that price i'm hesitating and would like to buy Payload. Is it worth it ?

Does he work as a classics/universe etc. Bludgeon or is the mold too moviestyled? The G1 paintjob looks more classic than movie, especially in robotmode, but the head looks not very classic as much as I can see it. This might have been a better character for the universe line as it was planned in the first, but if he works, I would get him for my classics collection, because I really like the idea and you can't have eough decepticon tanks. :)

I prefer this over Banzaitron version, because even though Banzaitron have better looking colors, but when I see this Bludgeon, immediately I can tell he's Japan-ish robot, especially the colors, it really brings out the Samurai feel Banzaitron's color is just cool looking, but I can't tell if he's a Japan-ish robot

i think his head should have been made a little smaller because right now his over-sized head makes him look a lot less intimidating than he could have been with a more proportioned body.... and I know they are trying to stay true to his original character but if there is going to be a black repaint later on, I might prefer getting that instead of this green version, which I would have had no problem with if it was more like the shade of green that they used on the movie wreckage repaint.
