Transformers Review: Legacy Tarantulas

I remember getting a reissue of the OG toy that came with a DVD of a few episodes and ever since then he’s always had a special place in my heart. I’m so glad this turned out to be pretty much perfect, he’s probably my favorite deluxe out of legacy. I also love how much they decided to nail both spider modes, even with the robot kibble this guy and kingdom BlackArachnia are top tier beast transformers with how good both modes came out.

They'll do a Buzzworthy Bumblebee release of him in those original box art/unproduced toy autumn-colors May be the case for Waspinator, with blues, dull greens and grays

This was the only figure i desperately needed from this line, and he delivers. Im absolutely in love with this figure, he does everything so right. I am so lucky to have stepped out and found the only one in my area. Nothing else wave 2 has been around here.

I actually prefer how the spider eyes were arrayed in the OG toy and cartoon. Though it is not accurate to the real animal, it gives the unique character, since the eyes were shown many times in close-up shots and in Cheetor’s nightmares.

I preordered one of each of this wave from Amazon the day it was posted and am just getting him today, the others are still waiting to ship. Something seems off with distribution for this wave.

Yeah, I think it might be part of Hasbro's new distribution strategy. Marvel Legends is having the same issue. Some figures in a wave show up weeks or even months before others.

It seems like maybe Tarantulas shares some engineering with Blackarachnia, but that is about it. No common parts at all. Much happier with his appearance than I was with some of the early art/photos, that looked rather pink. I wish the forearms extended a bit more in 'bot mode but it's certainly not a dealbreaker. LOL at 10th Anniversary Tarantulas trying to steal the show with some spontaneous launching action. On the topic of BA, I know some folks are totally against more than one version of a character on the shelf, but I have show BA with my Maximals and toy/Buzzworthy/Peg Bundy BA with the Preds. Pretend Tarantulas cloned her or something after she defected.

@@TFCollector I wish. It definitely seems like the limit is one new Commander per year. Most of the combiners already had their time in the sun.

They can do it a Leader class so that it will be in scale with TM2 Megatron and POTP Optimal Optimus. My hope is that they do TM Tarantualas as a voyager and don't cut any corners like his vehicle mode. The leaks for the upcoming waves for next year seem pretty lacking in BW characters, unless you count Lio Convoy. It's almost like they are taking a break while the ROTB figures are out before they do fuzors and the rest of the TM/TM2 characters. Seems we might have a bit of a wait to finish our BW S2+ collections.
