the gun in the Dino month is actually so you can fit blast effects

Theres a grey element of the knees ratchet joint that is hollow and weakens the resistance. If you put a bit of the tip of a cotton bud in it the replace the part the ratchet works the way it was ment to. My guess is its one of the parts that hasbro didn't have the budget to do fully, much like the robot toes and the rubber used for the wings

I would love if there was a He, Paddles or He, Scorn or even a two headed She, Strafe/Ptero and a (obviously not Leader sized) She, Slash after He, Snarl & He, Swoop get released.

I still hate the proportions on the studio series Slug,which is more annoying for me since he’s my favorite Dinobot;but this looks like the best studio series Dinobot in my opinion.

These look great but Hasbro still has yet to top the original Diaclone figures. There are two things I'd like to see in Dinobot figures: First, modern paleontological models (no tail-dragging). Second, head, leg, and tail articulation in dino mode. Bonus: Sludge shakes the earth with his footsteps and should be a titan-class figure.

Surprised by the dino-mode size, and a wee bit disappointed. Sludge was my first Dinobot as a child however, and I'll absolutely pick him up. Solid and informative review, thanks!

The robot mode size takes priority. Sludge is the right size in robot mode stood next to Grimlock and Slag - with the dinosaur mode being whatever size it is after that fact.

Unfortunately he seems like a bit of a janky figure, at least in robot mode. He always was my least favorite Dinobot, so with those factors and the price.....I may just cancel my BBTS 'pre-order'(though maybe the fact that I've just sat on it and never put any effort into finding him elsewhere probbly speaks to how little I care about him....). Probably better off just saving up for Snarl/Swoop.

I have heard a rumor that early Sludge with his wing hinge pieces in robot mode were actually hard plastic and not what you and others have with the softer plastic. Overall I still plan to get him, but I feel in Dino mode they did a poor design under the belly. Grimlock and Slag(I'm not gonna call him by his stupid product name) were better designed in Dino mode in regard to not having big gaps anywhere. Was it that hard to maybe have the toes fold up so they don't stick out downward and also maybe have like a roundish belly piece to attach to the bottom of Sludge?

Unfortunately they seem to have taken from the G1 toy in dino mode scale since he was also a tiny sauropod compared to the rest back then as well. And like someone else said, he mass shifted a lot when transforming in the cartoon, being the biggest in Dino mode but being the same as the rest in robot mode. I think they could’ve made his neck longer to compensate but that would’ve made the robot backpack stick out more. Still, it’s a buy on sight for me, the looseness in the legs and stability issues from it really suck tho..

Love Grimlock and Sludge BUT can't believe they missed the mark with Slag YET AGAIN. He should be the easiest to get right and they totally fluffed this one.

Already have SS86 Sludge and agree with Balt about the slight looseness of the joints. Despite, that it is my favourite dinobot toy so far, mainly because it has the best transformation. The Dino mode is also the most posable and very fun.
