Double Joint in the knee is there so you can collapse legs in Gorrilla mode when you decide to have him standing upright. That way Gorilla mode has proper proportions of shorter legs.

The double jointed knees are for the standing gorilla mode. You can move the lower legs up so he has shorter legs in that mode compared to the regular robot mode.

Optimus primal typically stood strait up in the show so that's why it's in the instructions and the double jointed knees is to give him shorter legs when he stands up in gorilla mode

Wow! Terrific figure! They did a great job on this Optimus Primal, robot kibble is minimal and he looks great in beast and robot mode! I never got the original BW toy of Primal, but I did get his Transmetal form and the Optimal Optimus form from way back then. This is one I'm looking forward to add to my collection! And I can't wait for BW Megatron! Awesome review, Paul! And a Happy New Year to you as well!

I love this fig but the painted thighs and biceps is a major design flaw. The thighs on mine have a considerable amount of chips and scratches after only a few transformations.

I've got this figure in my collection, and boy is he a mission to transform . Changing him to his beast mode is easy but changing him back to his robot mode is frustrating. Trying to get his robot mode head to tab in place without breaking him is rather tight, so eventually I left him as a Gorilla 🦍

The gold disc was sent into space by humanity containing bits of our culture and human accomplishments. Cybertron got the disc and when megatron (beast wars version) stole disc and travels back in time the disc now became a powerful tool to steer future events from the past

@@fortimusprime Well to elaborate a bit more, G1 Megatron intercepted the disc before it was launched as a kind of backup plan in case he failed instructing future descendants in a secret message to use Transwarp tech to go back to the past and change history so the Decepticons would be victorious as the Golden Disk contained records of then 1984 Earth and if the past was changed then a new future would come into existence.

To be fair to the upright mode, Primal spent more time like that than standard Gorilla stance in the show. Hell him and dinobot moved more like humans than their beast modes

Yeah, the gaps in the chest of the robot mode are a bit of an annoyance, but otherwise it’s basically a perfect mass release figure of Optimus Primal

I’m dying to get an Optimus remold as B Boom. They did it for grimlock kingdom, do it for B Boom. If we get inferno and cybershark, that opens up Antagony repaint, cybershark and variants and maybe finally a Killer Whale figure. I’d love to get polar claw two so they do an exclusive double punch vs barbearian.

The plastic also has a cheap look to it probably because the slight increase in looks they made the plastic and paint worse despite prices sometimes being 3x what they were a few years ago so it is just greed
