Something you said about him looking like a generic enemy you'd fight in a Decepticon campaign reminds me of how the Ironhide mold got used to make the Autotrooper. There's something about a boxy van man that just says "I'm a troop builder" in the Transformers aesthetic huh?

Just trivia for those who don't watch STRANGER THINGS: 1. The headsculpt resembles the look of one of the soldiers who wants to capture the protagonist (specifically the one from the chopper in the dessert where the pizza van was used) 2. The top of the head shows the brain sensors that they use on the proragonist, who has psychic powers 3. The thighs of Code Red look like file cabinets, representing the secret government files about the experiments. 4. The wired bat is a prominent weapon on the show. 5. The flamethrower weapon is a homage to the flamethrowers in the show that were used for fighting the monsters.

The only real problems with the Earthrise mold stem from how it as to be 1. An extensive retool of the Siege Ironhide & 2. It has to be done on the budget of a retooled _deluxe_ figure. There's only so much one can do to work with such strict limitations. Compromise was a certainty. Not saying that's a good thing or that I approve of that, but that's just how it is. Not every toy can have the ideal budget, time, & engineering requirements to get done in the ideal way.

Don't worry too much about not watching Stranger Things. Seasons 1 and 2 were really good but Season 3 was kind of an unmitigated disaster and Season 4, while a definite improvement, is kind of exhausting to watch the longer it goes on because the episodes just keep getting longer and longer and LONGER. I still have yet to finish because I just cannot find the free time to do so. Also the show has a really bad habit of killing off almost every new main character that shows up. There are exceptions obviously but it's a definite coin flip whether or not a new cast member will make it out of the season alive when they waltz into frame for the first time.

I found it a bit boring when it started, but the last two seasons have been phenomenal imo. Vecna is a great villian. Very much invocative of Freddy Krueger - but with a more grounded personality.

I still feel like this is a waste for a collaborative, this car only appears in 1 season, hopefully it appears in the next season, but it isn't iconic to the show, I think if it became the demmogorgon or if it was a demogorgon that transformed in to the earlier form of the demogorgon or something like that. If you had no context you could assume this is just a collaboration with a pizza place.

I thin he's better than Studio Series Ironhide in all but one area -- that waist. It just looks so... thin. It wouldn't suit Ironhide to me, but that can probably be fixed. At least the front of the vehicle doesn't refuse to budge when going into robot mode like Ironhide's.

Honestly, more often than not, I'm more than happy with a relatively simple transformation......as long as a cool vehicle and a cool robot is accomplished in the end, how I get there is honestly kinda irrelevant to me in my personal opinion 🤷🏼‍♂️

What is Terrestrial TV? I thought Stranger Things was Netflix series? I don't watch it either. BTW I play City of Villains so seeing a Mace or an Axe that shoots energy blasts out of the top actually isn't that weird me. There are entire power sets made specifically for that. The Arachnos Soldier if you have a Bane Spider build gets that as their primary weapon. There's also the Mace Mastery powerset anyone has access to as long as they have their Patron power pools unlocked. You can even customize how your weapon looks in the game so the Wolf Spider Mace basically looks exactly like the mace accessory this figure has except you can't make it translucent. There's also a Celestial Mace option which is also available as the Celestial Axe for the Battle Axe power set. It's the exact same weapon but turned around so there's a sharp end and a blunt end. The weapon is also capable of shooting web grenades. City of Heroes/Villains is my DnD in case you couldn't tell. Honestly this just makes me wish there was a toy line for that game but all we ever got was a few exclusive Hero Clix which they made painfully difficult to actually collect because they were randomly distributed to anyone with an active game account and they literally only sent ONE per game account. I only ever saw Manticore in person. I wanted to get Captain Mako as well but my dad, my cousin, and a guy I don't talk to anymore, we all ended up with the same one. I could totally see someone using those accessories for some City of Villains customs. And I wander if the designer of this figure was a player cause I can't imagine why they would think to include those accessories completely independently without knowing that was a City of Villains weapon. It might be possible that they just had similar ideas but I've never seen that type of weapon outside of that game.

apart from being the van of the show there is nothing that tells me it has anything to do with it. if it was a secret agent, okay that would work. maybe even one of those monsters.... but like you said, it's far to generic.

The robot mode looks pretty bad honestly. The proportions are terrible. His legs are too long, arms are too short, waist is too skinny. Colors are bad too other than the yellow.
