Here's a tip. Use a fingernail brush from the automotive store. Dip it in water then some baking soda. That works wonders on the faded handles.

That’s a distant cousin to the Craftsman 95091 ACA edge American Eagle line from roughly the same timeframe. Frames were same shape but had brass liners and bolsters. I carry one nearly everyday.

The folding hunter is my main pattern I collect. I don't have one like that yet. I don't thing I have a Schrade one. I have 2 Frankenstein ones that a friend put new handles on and Frontier blades on. They were in rough shape from a antique store. They are still USA, just from several doners. lol..

Leather dye or some kinda dye will work on the handle. Good video. I think you should have pinned the handle. God bless. From Glenn CATT. In Massachusetts.
@theknifedoctor25 күн бұрын
I would have to take the entire knife apart to do that. Just too much work for a loose handle scale. If it comes off again I’ll do that. Thanks for watching!

Hey Doc, I got behind on your videos and I’m trying to get caught up. Can’t help noticing you use a lot of oil. When you got a minute look up Strikehold. It’s a lubricant/protectant made for the military for weapons used in Sandy environments, like in the gulf wars. It’s made in Lawrenceville, Ga. I think the pump spay bottle should give you more use for your money. They are good people too. Give them a call. They’re very helpful.

I use a lot oil to rinse out the blade chamber after sanding the rust in there. Not just because but necessary to can the chamber.😊

That’s a nice knife. I’m not taking any repair jobs at this time. Just way too busy. Bone is hard to mess with. Not really sure on a recommendation for that.

G'day doc, noticed some dark lines going down your thumb nail, please go get it checked out at a doctor, it could be a sign of melanonychia
@theknifedoctor27 күн бұрын
That’s actually an injury from long ago. A Case folding hunter closed on my Thumb while in was using it. Cut my cuticle really bad. My nail has grown that way ever since. Thanks for your concern though.
