Transforming A Garage On a Budget! | Part 6: Texture, Primer, & Paint

Hey Everyone,
Today we are back working on the garage! We still have so far to go before I'll consider this job done... The only question is, what does done even mean for a job without a real end? Today we finish sanding, start some texture, and paint the walls we built!

Gotta say thank you for your unique twist on several of my mundane loves. My KZbin feed is full of car, cooking, and home improvement content. Ooffff I feel this one. *looks at corner that’s wearing tons of mud applied to fill a valley in the wall* 0 plans to texture. Lol I have a Jeep TJ waiting to have the suspension overhauled and axles swapped. Plus a couple of Nissan PUs that could use some reviving. So, yeah. But I also have 5/8 drywall on the ceiling and painted. Mostly for more light. I have considered adding the hex lights but I haven’t seen much available in 5000k color so it’s mostly the 6” flat round LED lights set to 5000k

Great choice of color! I have a simillar color in my room but its a bit to the olive side. To my eyes Its charming and brings coziness and comfort to see and it blends well with my wooden floor and dark oak furniture. Hope the garage serves you well! Can't wait for the upcoming projects you have in mind!

Haha I will likely get LED's of some kind but definitely not hex lights😅 I think that wouldn't really fit the style I'm aiming for haha. And floors are definitely on the agenda at some point haha.

ey Hunter.. I guess that colour will need more lights so you can work on cars properly. you could've done it white so it gives you extra light inside the garage.

I actually wanted to avoid lights for filming more than anything haha. Its way harder to control the lighting like I do if the background is always brighter than whatever I'm shooting.

I would left it white personaly.

Valid opinion! The main reason it was never going to be white was due to filming. It's alot harder to control the lighting when the background is that bright.

Why in the world did you not just paint the walls after you got them sanded and smooth? I really dont get the textured thing? And if you knew from the beginning that you were gonna texture, why did you do all the work on getting the joints 100% smooth? The texture must surely obscure if the joints are not super smooth?
