Loved this video! I will note that butterfly weed was shown in the picture and not swamp milkweed - those have different water preferences and heights (and colors).

My interest for ecology and gardening began in my own backyard garden. When I decided I might want to offer sustainable design services to others, I took the Pro-level Permaculture Design Certification from Oregon State University. It is completely online and cost $1200 but there are scholarships and financial aid available. From there, I found a few clients to design for and then things just took off thanks to word-of-mouth and social media! I highly recommend taking a PDC and reading as many books on soil microbiology, food forestry, and native landscaping as possible. The books at Timber Press and Chelsea Green publishing are great for this.
