I just bypass the effort and lay soil test papers across the lawn. Passerbyers are stunned. Best results in the neighborhood 😂

Hey Clint. I live in West Michigan so we have similar weather. This year it seems like I have an invasion of crabgrass this year (it's August now). I've been using the Scotts 4 step system for the past 3 years. So far all I've been doing is removing the crabgrass by hand as well as using baking soda in small spots. I've read about post emergents and pre-emergents. Do you have any advice for for a guy that doesn't have a lot of experience with a fairly large yard.

Pre emergent is going to be your friend. Doing a fall application followed by an early application keeps that stuff away for the most part. But if you are planning on doing any overseeding in fall or spring it will stop any germination. Liquid will be your most cost effective but if you don't spray they also make granular.
