The 'useless' buttons at the bottom of the shirts are actually extras! So whenever you lose one, which happens sometimes, you can repair it. If you want, you can cut them out when you buy the shirt and keep them safe somewhere else. Some jeans have an extra button in the label for this reason

The dress came out so cute! A tip my mom showed me to mark clothes: when you use a soap bar and it becomes too small, save it for when you’re sewing and want to quickly mark clothes! The soap comes out easily when you wash it. (This would help when you are marking your clothes and need to keep your place) great content !

@@MaanyaSundar unless you don’t use bar soap, like a lot of people don’t these days. If you have kids you likely have washable markers or crayons laying around. You can buy chalk and sometimes the washable markers and crayons at dollar stores. Fabric stores often have things like tailor’s chalk or markers. I bought a pattern book at a dollar store that came with a fabric marker for like $3

Mia you have got to get into machine embroidery. I can see you already embroidering everything you own once you figure it out. I recommend grabbing a husqavarna machine. I would suggest the Topaz 50 as a good starting one. Then get the software called Hatch. You can design all sorts of cute things on there that your machine could run. You would have so many possibilities. For example making something “in-the-hoop” which is something where all the sewing and embroidery is done in the hoop. You can make wallets and bags like this. But you could also embroider cute little strawberries all over a dress. Or design your own thing for every one of your throw pillows!

You can change so many things 😄. I took a vintage, as in I bought it 30 years ago, white Victorian style nightgown into some white Capri length shorts. I chop the length off too long dresses and use the extra at the shoulder seam to add a couple of inches because it's usually too tight there for long body. With the right item, a dress can be a top or pants, a shirt a skirt, etc.

I love watching your sewing content. your process is so common sense and not always necessarily what a traditional seamstress would do. But that's the best part! I think it helps people who don't think they could make their own garments be more confident. Thank you!

I am so excited to know you are doing more sewing. I was doing a lot of sewing but with my machine acting up I can not sew as much but I still try. I love to make handbags wallets back pack and purses. But I will say I am definitely thinking about sewing some clothes just cause you make it seem fun and a little less hard. I am really loving your creation. I am really thing about looking into taking one of my husbands shirts and going at it. Lol.

Really awesome idea. I am thinking since I am a bit older and a full figured girl is that finding dress shirts at some of the men's stores or even the big and tall sections of some of the chain stores could give more length or even make it into a romper. I love the embroidery that you ended up putting on it, it gave the dress a super cute addition. You really do find some incredible DIY things to do.

That's a great job. I have some of my dad's old tshirts but they are so old and all that I'm just going to try to make some pillow cases out of them. I haven't done much sewing since I was little but I'm getting into it again and getting excited for the different things I can learn.

If people want to try sewing and but have budget restrictions they can try their local library. Libraries these days will sometimes have a library of things, and if they don’t asking might inspire them to start one. I borrowed the sewing machine from my local library to see if it was something I enjoyed doing and when I did like it I mentioned wanting to buy one and one of my husband’s uncles said I could have his grandmother’s old sewing machine from like the 1960’s. It had just in a room of his house since she passed away decades ago so he was happy it would get some use again. Some cleaning, replacing a cork part that had rotten away and she was singering again

It would have been super cute if you did the scalloped edge along the sleeve cuffs too! I do like that you didn't level the hem and kept the original sweeping shape of the dress shirt.

I think it's so cool that you're doing this give away, I've been very inspired by your thrift flip videos and feel held back by how big of an investment a sewing machine is. Love your channel!

I love thrifting and making it my style or fixing it. This week I thrifted two bags. The inside of one was falling apart so I tore it out sewed the bottom and replaced the lining with an old bandana I haven’t used in forever. The second bag just had a broken zipper but still had tags! Cut out the zipper bought some buttons and walaaaaaaaa. Thank you for more inspiration!!!

The giveaway is really cool! I have been very inspired by your sewing journey to give it another go. I had started learning quite a few years ago and felt discouraged because I really struggled with understanding patterns. I feel more confident and have a few simple alterations in mind for some clothes where the fit is a touch off

I'm trying to learn to sew, because you've inspired me! I'm borrowing the sewing machine from my aunt, and I'm a bit sad that the giveaway isn't available to people from Europe, but I'm still very happy for people who have the possibility to win!
