Yeah, pretty yikes 😬 plus Cho Chang is meant to be Chinese, but her name's a mixture of Asian surnames - Korean (Cho) and Chinese/Korean (Chang). People praise her for the on-the-nose symbolism she puts into her character's names, yet many turn a blind eye on the racist stereotyping she appeals to. People of colour have been calling this out since the books' release, but have been silenced until other issues came out.

Thank you 💚 I don't want this to be about me, because I'm not the target demographic of his derogative comment. What matters is what comments like that represent in regards to antisemitism. Bigots will obsess so hard over marginalised groups, instigate harassment and then play victim when people retaliate. Their hatred of Jews is so prevalent they targeted me for having a name they PERCEIVED to be a reference to Judaism - that's how you know how dangerous these rhetorics are. Similarly, this is why EVERYONE should be concerned about trans rights being taken away - anti-trans bigots will look for any vague sign someone is trans, which WILL affect cis queer and otherwise gender-nonconforming people (the trans-exclusionary gay men and lesbians WON'T be spared by being Pick Me's - transphobia is just recycled homophobia). We're united in that our existence stands against traditional gender roles, which are decidedly based on white/Christian standards meaning that people of colour and non-Christian faiths are affected too (anti-LGBTQIA+ arguments are repurposed racist rhetorics, that's why the black and brown arrows were added to the Progress Flag). The "don't let them in our toilets" argument was once policy against Black people, the "they're taking over the world" fear-mongering is pulled directly from antisemitic conspiracy theories. The tactics are the same and the hatred is still there, they've just adapted to try and evade accountability. The takeaway is that ANYONE who doesn't fit a rigid standard of person will be targeted. We always have been, but not their tactics are becoming explosively aggressive because they've been losing control over marginalised groups. This is why we NEED to push back.

Thanks, there's been a lot of factors behind not uploading lately - FF7FS ending, personal reasons, a bit of creative burn out, working on time-consuming projects... I pushed myself to make this video, because it's important that people are aware of what's going on. I'll be back soon, just going through a lot at the moment 💚
