It's the entire system and the culture it has produced. Predatory corporatism is hoarding capital and oppressing the commons. We need to break it down to the very root of the issue which is how we decide to produce and distribute goods and services. When a society bases it's entire system around a For Profit model of production and distribution.... The entire society suffers and eventually crumbles. We've seen it over an over throughout human history. We had serfs, slaves and now employees It's the same game. The majority produces the goods and services and the predatory ruling elite keep the profit. Healthcare, education, housing and food should be human rights. There's more vacant homes and buildings than there are homeless human beings. Corporate crony capitalism is rotting humanity. A resource based economic model not based in profits...but on science, resources, human need and ingenuity is possible. Technology makes it possible. But first we need to recognize the source of all the problems. A revolution of consciousness so to speak. The figureheads are just puppets for the ruling masters of capital.

This story is very sad :( I would NEVER disown my own child for this problem that they did not ask for. We do not totally understand, because we have not been in this persons shoes. As a woman, I can say , I can not understand how you dis own , your own child, that you carried for 9 months and gave birth to. That breaks my heart. To me, as a mother, I may not understand, but I would except and love my child, what ever problem it had no control of. If your child don't have your love and support, it has to hurt them so deeply, it destroys many lives as we have seen with many of the people Mark interviews. I think alot of the cruelty that goes on in this world is many people have failed at parenting. They did not teach their children about kindness and respect for others. When I was a child my Mom would always tell me to never stare at people who looked different and if I had any questions she would answer me when we got home. We lived in a city of two million people And we would see many times baby's and children with very big heads from water on the brain. I was very young, and my Mom taught me how to respect all . Today, people think they have the RIGHT, to attack you for what ever reason they feel is not suiting them, SMH. Back in the day , we were told if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing. I think our country and our people need to start teaching these things again today. This world has many angry people . I think Stephanie, needs to stop prostituting's because there is a much greater chance of getting hurt or killed out there. This is much more common then ever before. I would hope there are community's where people with this problem, gather, live and support each other to make this life more tolerable. We just had a transgender killed a few weeks back I think its horrible :( I have seen murders in the paper of these people for 35 years. I honestly am sick of hearing about people being murdered. I hope Stephanie, finds peace. I just can not imagine, my parents disowning me, How very hurtful and crippling that is.

It’s so sad. I have a 9 month old. I don’t care if he identifies as a woman, is gay, is a trans lesbian, wants to date someone of a difference race anything! People come in so many different types all that matters is the persons heart. I’d much rather have a trans daughter than a dead daughter/son.

@Jason Okafor You are trolling with pro-male, anti-female, anti-gay, anti-trans comments under nearly every positive comment coming from a place of love. Your last name and attitude leads me to believe you grew up in an ethnic, Old Testament, male domination Christian community that follows the rules of the Sanhedrin more than Jesus. I'm not going to preach to you as I'm sure you have a mask of false righteousness protecting you that allows you to spew hate since you believe you are right and God is right so what you say is equal to what God says when he has likely never spoken to you in dreams or prophecy, nor has your heart been clean enough of hatred to hear anything but your own thoughts. The best thing to do for a child is not having a father present-- fathers can rape their children, beat them and their mothers, have horrible addictions that starve their kids-- but you already know deep down your generalization is too general to be right. You know there are reasons, but you also know the false authority you have created for yourself wrongfully in God's name will crumble if you start understanding others and their situations, loving others, and leading them to the joy of existing and helping one another. I pray that one day you drop the toxic machismo you use to protect your ego that you have built with spiritual power that comes from darkness and not light. This person in the video believes and knows the self as a woman, as a she-- and likely always has. Pronouns are not religious. Man made those, not God or any sort of spiritual authority. Having an identity at odds with your culture-- Texas!!, family, religion, and looks is a road that I, nor someone as meek as Stephanie, would NEVER choose to walk. Life can suck irrespective of your choices-- Job knew all about that. I hope He speaks to you before you marry and have children, and if you have those already, I hope He shows you the path to righteousness away from self-righteousness.

If people can’t get treatment for cancer for free why does this person feel entitled to have elective surgery for free?
@rebelrebel72084 жыл бұрын
These comments are horrendous! The only reason Stephanie mentioned surgery is because she was asked about if she was transitioning and what dreams she had. When she said “they won’t give me surgeries” I took that to mean that she knows damn well, just like anyone else that it doesn’t come free. That’s what she meant by they won’t give it to me living on the street. She never said she expected to come out to San Francisco and it would just rain surgeries, perhaps it was more that she thought she’d be accepted in a city that has been a progressive homosexual mecca here in the U.S. did you even listen to the story? She wanted to get the fuck out of TX. She was doing well with a man who then kicked her out and now she’s on the street. The way you guys are responding is the very reason people end up depressed, in low places, with or without a home.

Lauren Edmunds I’ve been very lucky that my parents had the opportunity to leave the US and raise me in Canada. I know the privilege I have living in my country. Not to say that we don’t have our own systemic struggles as Canadians, but our universal healthcare and resources for mental health and addictions are available for those who need them no matter what “class” you fall into. They’re not perfect and sometimes you have to be patient, but there are some really wonderful resources there for people in crisis and DV situations, as well as mental health and addictions. Even just the opportunity to receive free counselling, can help heal. I’ve used these services before and I’m better for it.
@jeanjennings57124 жыл бұрын
Britt Easley, I agree with your statement. Here in the US, if you don't have health insurance, you are screwed. The social service system is also a mess, because the pay is so low for these workers, and the case load is so huge. It winds up becoming a conveyor belt of "cases", rather than people. And children in the system have it the worst. They are used as paychecks for many unscrupulous people who are "fosters"....which is such a travesty.

I find myself watching all of his videos every night when I put my kids to bed. I just came across this channel about 3 weeks ago so I'm a fairly new subscriber. This is probably the realest but saddest channel I've ever seen. I thank Mark, & I hope he reads these comments, thank u so much for giving these people a chance to tell their story. Most of them don't feel important enough let alone to think u care about they're story, but u do Mark, we do. & I thank u for that. As sad & disturbing some of these interviews are, they need to talk & we need to listen. Most people that don't live we're they live have no idea how bad it can really be, & we're living in America. Mostly it starts by the way they were raised or brought up at home. Those horror stories stay with them & they start to believe that this is all they r good for. Not worth anything better. Very, very sad. Then they numb themselves with drugs just to stop feeling that pain for a little while then its all downhill from there, they're now addicted to the drug. It takes over every being in your body, very scary! I really hope even if one of these interviews help one person to not get on this distucting path it would be worth it. MARK, I give u so much credit & respect for showing these people & letting them tell they're own story no matter how hard it is to hear. I know u try & help them in any way u can. GOD bless u Mark, truly. Im not poor but I'm getting by ok but if I ever can help I will make sure to send u money or if there's other things that would be helpful i would love to. I think I go to ur website. Thank u for making this channel & letting these people just let it all out, they need to. With no judgment. I wish i could help everyone but I know that's not possible. Atleast 1 person at a time & I know Mark has been doing above & beyond of what he should & can. God Bless him. & to all of u struggling, hopefully one of these interviews will change ur outlook on certain things & realize this is NO way to end up. Please everyone, there is hope, things will get better. I pray for everyone. God bless Mark & all of u with these tragic stories. Its not your fault! You can literally feel the pain she’s feeling when she talks. So much heartbreak. I hope she gets some help. The world can be such a cruel place, and these videos are so eye opening. I come from a small place, and so I feel so sheltered when it comes to pain and cruelty of the world. I get so caught up in these people’s lives, and there stories. How one person can go through so much and keep on keeping on is beyond me. Your videos and photography is breathtaking Mark! Keep it up, I wish I could do more to help

This guy speaks the truth regarding homophobia fears and slurs from the public that LGBT members experience. I did a research paper in college on the LGBT community, and they struggle with depression, anxiety, cut off from family, and rejected by their religious faith. Many have committed suicide due to poor support and ridicule by people in their community. Doing this assignment was an eye opener for me to understand and place myself in their shoes. It's heartbreaking. Unfortunately, like me coming from a religious conservative background that totally opposes LGBT lifestyle, I feel guilty for going along with what I was taught. Also, of importance, many lesbians and gays come from religious conservative backgrounds, and knew beforehand prior to coming out, that they would be shunned by those in their religious sect. They grapple with harmonizing their sexual preference with religious identity. Most LGBT members suffer from Spiritual Cognitve Dissonance (SCD), which is engaging in a lifestyle that their religious faith opposes. SCD can and has caused mental health disorders among LGBT members based on research studies. As a result of SCD,many have abandoned their religious beliefs and become atheists to avoid the emotional distress from spiritual cognitive dissonance.

Her friend is “VERY JEWISH ABOUT HIS MONEY”. Now isn’t that interesting .... no matter who we are or how we suffer, or how marginalized or how down n out, there are still ppl who we consider the ‘other’. A sad sad characteristic of the very base aspect of our humanity. (We admire creatures like dogs who seem to be forgiving & loving & don’t discriminate yet we consider ourselves ABOVE animals!!) I wonder if SHE HERSELF asks anyone “how are you?” or “what can I do for you?”. She says she has no friends yet refers to her friends all throughout the taping. She is very damaged & her sitch is so so sad. I hope she can start on the road to a little self-discovery & self-awareness. ♥️
