Some diseases such as the BT cotton bacterium HAVE ALREADY CROSSED SPECIES 'BARRIERS' via secondary consumption or via other vectors such as insect bites. The technology is fascinating but it is certainly NOT SAFE. Humans now suffer from skin conditions due to the agrobacterium mentioned and there are many other cases of similar unexpected 'cross genetic transfer'. Ask about the thousands of Indian farmers who committed suicide after getting the BT Cotton which is transgenic. Shomo is a good teacher but there are some rather glaring omissions once you learn the basics.
