SFMTA closed the Twin Peaks Tunnel early each night between Castro and West Portal Stations from Thursday, September 14 until Thursday, September 21, 2023, to complete the detailed ceiling inspection.
During that week everyday starting at 9 p.m. each night, K and M trains were out of service and were motorized instead. They ran between Church Station and Balboa Park Station. LBUS was also extended to Church as well, where riders could transfer to Shuttle trains underground to/from Downtown.
In this video you will see a large variety of coaches, including 40-foot, articulated buses, 30-foot and also a XE40 operating on the 52 Excelsior!
