The reason why predictions of a "Great Period" are less accurate is because of loss of merit. The horoscope is the fixed karma for this life time, the dasas shows the timing of when bad or good periods going to happen. But as life goes on we create new bad karma on the already existing karma for this lifetime. Also through our bad actions we lose a lot of merit. For example by eating meat, we eating up our merit. When we run out of our merit we get in deficit and get cancer, or misfortune, or die. So we decrease our good karma by bad actions or wrong doings, knowingly or unknowingly. Not knowing a law is no excuse is the fair policy of the law of karma. As you sow so shall you reap. By creating bad karma we accumulate NEW bad karma upon the already exciting bad karma for this life time, and decreasing our good karma at the same time. But since the Good karma is also fixed, something good will happen but due to the newly created bad karma it doesn't feel that good. Conclusion: What will happen in your life will happen anyhow, whether you know it or not. Where can you run, to whom can you run out of God’s hands? Let God play what he wants, we watch, we have no fear. We have no fear of anything, we play the game. Let’s have that attitude, better than to know what happen in the future. Let’s have the attitude: what ever happen in the future I face it. That’s braver, more courage’s and more fit for your dignity. Than just want to know things about the future and feeling fearful, or resentful, or anticipating some kind of disappointment, or hurry less. To know the future is no good, it affects our natural growth and affects our surprise. The real wisdom is not to know the future. The real wisdom is just to know the present, enjoying everything at the present. Don’t worry about the past and the future. The wisest person is like that. The wisest man know nothing, has no desire and no fear, because he has no ego. Who is there to know, who is there to know things, and what for? Who is that person that wants to know things and what for? What is the good of knowing anything, or having anything? You must have a big ego to know all this, or want to know all this. By practicing meditation we can get rid of our ego and of our karma not by just consulting an astrologer. He may predict you to avoid one thing but the next 10 bad thing are waiting already. The highest yagya is the meditation that you can practice by yourself every day at home, no pandit needed. Yagyas preformed by pandits cost money, practicing meditation cost nothing. You need an enlightened Master who can initiate you in his or her technique of meditation. A fully enlightened Master will erase at the time of initiation all your stored karma of all your past lives so that only the fixed karma for this lifetime is left. By practicing every day we purify ourselves from the NEWLY created bad karma, and lubricate the fixed karma, or reduce it even into a dream with the help of your Master.
