Hi ! the video was very informative but i have a question. I'm a high school student belonging from Pakistan and there is almost no high school here which offers it and the ones which do are very expensive. So, is taking AP courses a necessity for international students?
@jasonpatel132 жыл бұрын
No, taking AP courses are not necessary for international students. However, you should still aim to complete high-level courses in whatever curriculum your school offers, such as IB classes.

Hi We shifted last year from India, and don’t know which AP classes need to be taken for medical.
@Riya-ok6or4 ай бұрын
Hey, If you are thinking about going for Medical career, you should consider taking AP biology, AP chemistry, and AP physics. I would say take AP bio and chemistry before physics. If you wanna go to a specific college go to their website and check out what courses do they expect to be taken to get in that college. You got this 🫶🏽:)

Here is a list of all AP classes: apstudents.collegeboard.org/course-index-page . However, they aren't restricted by grade. You can take whichever ones your school will let you in 9th Grade. I recommend taking AP classes that align with your interests and being careful not to overwhelm yourself. :)

Hi Transizion, I am a international students that wants to take AP classes and AP exams! Is there anyway to take it outside of the US? And will I be able to add these AP classes that I take outside of school in my college application?
@jasonpatel13 Жыл бұрын
There is a difference between taking AP Classes and taking AP Exams. Unlike IB, you do not need to take the class to take the exam. The purpose of taking a class is to learn the material and receive a transcript saying you took the class, thus improving your GPA. If your school does not offer AP classes, you can either choose to self-study the material or take an online course. Either one will prepare you for the exam, but some online courses will also give you a transcript. However, taking AP Exams and doing well on them is what grants college credit, not taking the class. If you don't have a transcript mentioning these classes, it's fine: you can submit your official score report as part of your college application. Indeed, if you want to receive college credit for the class, you'll have to submit the official score report, regardless of whether you self-studied or took a class. I hope that helps!

Please by 125 dollars per exam do you mean 125 for all the courses you would be taking for that academic year or 125 dollars for each course

I'm moving from British curriculum to American, currently doing my igcse's. I was just wondering if its necessary to have an SAT's qualification in order to do AP subjects since in the the British system you have to have an igcse qualifaction for the subject you're taking in A levels.
@jasonpatel13 Жыл бұрын
Nope! The SAT is a completely separate test from the APs. (Even though they're run by the same company.)
@someoneyk6165 Жыл бұрын
@Transizion is it like board exams and is shipped from the US, if it were to be a written paper?
@jasonpatel13 Жыл бұрын
Currently, the SAT is done online if you're an international student. AP exams can be either digital or on paper; it depends on the school.

Are AP classes only related to GPA? So if you do another different curriculum like (A levels) is it required? Or is it only if you do GPA
@jasonpatel132 жыл бұрын
AP classes provide two functions. First, they create what is known as a "weighted" GPA. This is mainly relevant for US-based students. Second, they end with standardized tests that students across the world can take. This is where they are comparable to A-levels or IB classes. If you're interested in applying to top schools in the US, it's important that you take high-level classes, no matter what curriculum you school offers.
