A word of clarification: At 9:17 I say that there is only one aminoacyl tRNA synthetase. The clarification is that there is ONE aminoacyl tRNA synthetase for one amino acid - meaning that it can recognize multiple tRNAs for the same amino acid. Since there are 20 amino acids (61 coding tRNAs), it suggests that there are at least 20 aminoacyl tRNA synthetases in total (the actual number is around 40).

Hands down Mr., you have a gift to explain things so complicated in such a short amount of time and with crystal clear clarity. Greetings from Argentina

very smoothly explained. keep it up and please don't give up on this channel, you are doing a really great job. and yeah one more thing, you should make a separate video on amino-acyl tRNA synthetases like how they are able to charge a particular tRNA with its cognate amino acid. once again, your videos are very simple and easy to understand and they give us a really deep insight into the molecular intricacies.

hehe..what a machine !!! I'm just wondering how evolution could make an enzyme that charging tRNA (aminoacyl synthetase I guess) that apparently "speaks two languages", how the DNA Code was created by chance (I don't know any code nor do I know that anyone has observed the creation of the any code by a random process instead of intelligent effort) or how the evolutionary process created a legging stand that synthesizes in the opposite direction and in fragments, how is it possible that some mutation produced such ingenuities and saving time and space?... is it possible that people learn and put this much information into their brains, get Phd's but cannot understand that it is impossible, that their own knowledge denies them at every step if they believe and promote the evolutionary concept ??
