I didn't know Hyundais you can do it yourself. I got surprised once I saw the drain plug. Thank you. I'm going to do it on my 2012 Hyundai Accent.

There is a cap (facing the front of the Accent) at least on my 2016. Being the system is "sealed" for whatever reason with no dipstick, you can still check that your level is OK by first removing the splash-guard for access to it, adding just under the amount needed or just less than what you removed, start the car, shift gears around and run until hot, .. then *while running hot* and car leveled, open that front facing cap (3/8 socket wrench fits in middle) and if it's not leaking out, add slowly until it begins trickling out. At this time you know your level is good and close the forward-facing cap. If when you open the front-facing cap you see it really gushing out, it is overfilled. Allow it to spill out into the pan and wait until it trickles out at a lesser rate, at which time close the cap.

No filter. Please ensure you're absolutely sure you can open the fill before draining. Had an issue with someone who had a junkyard buy and did a drain without considering the fill port. Also front of transmission had a level port. Overfill by half quart then ensure you're at operational temperatures, open that port while running should slow drip and you're done.

Forgot to mention, shift through the gears a few times, getting fluid into the transmission

Good morning, The steps are very simplified. According to you, does the Hyundai accent 2018 have the same configuration and then, does the content of the video show a complete or partial transmission oil change and thank you.

How did you determine that you needed to change the fluid for the transmission
@peaceautomotiveservices11 ай бұрын
Manufacture decide service intervals. That u need ur transmission oil changed after 30-40 k kilometres. Check your car manual it should explain your cars service chart.

MV LV. If you buy it from store they can tell by the VIN or by your car make and model.

I use Valvoline Max Life Synthetic. It is rated for SP-III and SP-IV which are two common Hyundai automatic transmission fluid types. Also it is about 25 bucks for a 4 quart (1 gallon) jug at Walmart or AutoZone.
I thought those Hyundai's used 2.9 quarts of transmission

I just changed the fluid in a friend's car - I did it twice, to get a cleaner fluid once done - and in both drain cycles I ended up with very close to 3.5 US qts. To the degree it was possible in the garage in which I did the work, I made sure the car was level, drained from the drain plug (naturally), and filled via the check-fill plug, using a hand pump and a gallon container of fluid. When the refilled fluid first began to overflow via the check-fill plug, I started the car and cycled the gears through D, R, and P, a number of times, and then added a little more fluid until it overflowed once more. As I said, I did this twice, and both times drained the same amount of fluid.
