Is it easier to remove the trans this way and not as one unit? Would it be the same for a t-45?

Honestly this was first one I had done, and it went pretty smoothly I think was best way it worked out well, I wish I was able to finish the series, but I lost all my files on a corrupt ssd drive.

I dont understand where you drop the transmission and say to disconnect the shifter fork and wiggle the transmission off the input shaft. Where the fork is this seems almost impossible and installing it back like this definitely is? Clearly im missing a huge part of this?

Ok i had to review what you were talking about since i did this video a few years back. So the shifter fork is fair easy to disconnect once the cable tension is released. Then after that is done the input shaft goes about 3 inches into the back of the block. What i think wil work better is keep trans lifted with the jack and use a large prybar to carefully seperate from the block, you should be able to lower straight down from that point. I had a part 2 for this video on the install and all footage was lost when a drive corrupted itself. Hope this helps 🙏
