I just rebuilt my 2007 Chevrolet 4L60E following Jimmy's tutorials and it works again! Fantastic video series and presentation. Never thought I'd attempt this procedure but he made it easy as well as ordering the parts I needed. Highly recommended, thanks Jimmy!

@@dnegel9546 Just fine, it's my daily driver and I've gone about 1,500-2000 miles on it without any issues. I keep my ears tuned for any possible weirdness but nothing to report.

@@rivenmotors7981 I'm currently at the input drum part. I'm almost getting there. Btw.. I was confused on how to clean the parts he said to just use miracle spirits.. but does that mean I let it dry like that or do I rinse it off 😬😬 🤷 I should mention I'm a novice. 🥺

@@dnegel9546 We all have to start somewhere. Honestly this was the first time I used mineral spirits to clean parts also. It's not super volatile so it seems like it would take a while to evaporate on its own. If you have a compressor with a airgun you can use it (outside and wearing eye protection) to force the spirits from the nooks and crannies of the piece being cleaned and speed drying. You want everything inside the trans as clean as possible.

@@rivenmotors7981 haha thanks for the response. Guess I did it wrong. I wasn't sure so I rinsed some of the parts with water and I air dried it and sun dried then I checked about 10x with air to make sure no water was present. I suppose as long as its clean it does not matter? 🤷 Yeah I was thinking like man this mineral spirits thing is pretty thick and milky. Seems letting it dry would take forever. Guess I'll find out if I messed it all up when I start the car. 😓 Worst part is I don't have a garage. So I am doing it on the concrete and a few picknick tables. With lots and lots of trash bags for when I'm done for the day I can cover them up. Not ideal but it's what I have to work with.

@TranmissionBench Your Video Series Is The Best & It’s A Shame That More People Don’t Know About Your Video Lesson Series. I Consider Myself Very Fortunate That I Was Able To Find Your Video Classroom Lessons I Will Buy All My Parts Only From Your Website Anything I Can Do To Help Support Everything That You Do For Being My Lifesaver I Couldn’t Afford To Buy A New Transmission Or Afford To Pay Someone To Rebuild It For Me So I Had To Figure Out How To Do It Myself & I Wouldn’t Have Been Able To Do It Without Transmission Bench Thank You

Really good videos, but you will pull all your hair out if you do not get Matco TP17 brand snap ring pliers, IMO. I tried for hours and screamed bloody murder using all kinds snap ring pliers. I do not know why the correct type is not mentioned in video.

My old 3-4 clutch pack was not burnt or warped/coned but the "cogs" on the insides of the clutches show wear and I don't know how serious it is. Some of them have been reduced to half their original size measuring from left to right. They appear to be taking a pounding in primarily one direction which is essentially widening the gap between each cog (if it continued the cogs would be completely gone leaving the inside of clutches round). What is causing this and can these be reused if flipped over to other side (since only one side of the cogs is damaged badly)?

+chad boren If half of the splines on the friction plates have worn away, I would recommend replacing them. This is common and actually a healthy sign that the clutch is operating well....no slipping! Jimmy

Would the clutches still operate if all the spines were sheared off and the insides of clutches were smooth and round?

Well...the clutch pack might apply, but it would not transmit torque. Jimmy

finally we see how to dis-assemble the front clutches!! thankyou, BUT this should have been done already (BEFORE reassembly began in part 2 lesson 1)- in a part 1 lesson 8 module, so that ALL dis-assembly / inspection work is complete before any parts are installed {in reality this is how repairs are done: autopsy first, order parts from inspection findings, then LAST assemble box with new parts}.
