Jad Farha on "Transoral outlet reduction: could additional sutures cause more harm?"
Authors: Jad Farha, Selim Gebran, Mohamad I. Itani et al.
Summary:
The adverse event rate of double purse-string pattern (DPSP) suturing for transoral outlet reduction was retrospectively evaluated because of the scarcity of literature on this technique. As the results demonstrated that the DPSP technique is a challenging procedure with a relatively high risk of stricture, the authors advise that it should not be used for transoral outlet reduction.
