I taught my mum earlier how easy it was to switch the background by laying photos and being able to cut them so that the photo on top has the background of the photo beneath. She thought it'd be really hard and time-consuming but when i told her how it was done she was really surprised !!

Ok, I am struggling with an issue that has been frustrating me for hours. I followed multiple tutorials to do a water ripple effect for a logo. It came down to the Wave World and Caustics plug-ins. I have everything set to go. The problem is, maps and caustics gives a grey background that I can't remove while maintaining the effect. The water layer has a blue fill, but I would like to be able to remove the blue solid in the background and only have the effect on the logo image. I can't believe this is so complicated. Why is it so difficult to maintain an effect and have the background completely transparent? I am running out of time. I couldn't find a job in 3D animation anywhere, and now I am stuck trying to figure out problems in after effects with no job or money.

Hi, thanks. This is the second video that I watched regarding transparent backgrounds in AfterEffects. Albeit, my rendering continues to return a video with a black background. I followed your tutorial step by step but i still had a black background. But im using vegas pro 14 instead of premiere pro. Would the problem be that i am using vegas pro 14? Also when i open up the rendered video file from after effects i still see it with a black background. Could anyone help?

Troy Bowman Hi there, I am a fan of your channel Can you help me? I have a project from Adobe Illustrator, It is text. It came to me in black. I am importing it into after effects. In the comp setting I chose light violet color to work with. I drag in my text in to the comp and Invert the black to white. I toggle off the light violet color revealing the transparency and the white text. I could not get the media encoder to recognize my file for export. so I am using add to render cue to export. When it exports it exports with the light violet color and my text is back to black. You are an After Effects WIZARD can you help one of your subscribers with this dilemma?
