If you do the ptt + 8 while powering it on it'll transmit on 1.25 meters also. Mine puts out nearly 10 watts on 220.

Guy.. I was watching your radio and flashlight video's earlier because I did a search on Tidradio HD8 and you came up.. So, I subscribed and commented, and then I left and came home and opened youtube and my browser and of course the other radio I've been interested in besides the Tidradio HD8 is this one.. I can't believe you also did a review on this one.. Very cool.. I think though I'll go with the Tidradio because it can be 10 watts unlocked and do the Ham frequencies, murs, etc.. I have my GRMS license, but don't have Ham yet, but I will get my technician license I'm sure.. I think I could pass the test now, but I'm going to study a little more.. I want to ace it.. Someone needs to make an HT that has the 70cm and VHF AND some lower UHF bands like the 6 meter band... Maybe there is a HT that I don't know of that gets those lower frequencies in the VHF band? Voice frequency I mean so that one can play with skip.. SSB bands, etc.. Thanks for the video's sir.. Very cool.. Your radio bench looks like my electric guitar work bench. I'm always changing pickups, and electrical stuff as well as switching necks with different bodies, etc.. Be well sir and regards from the heartland. South Central Indiana. USA. Tim

Julian. May I ask. Do you know any company that makes a small battery or solar charging battery that could be used with a mobile radio to take to the field with a mobile antenna to put in a pack that would work? Something that's not so expensive that you spend more than the national debit? 😛 May I ask, are you an electronics engineer or something my friend? You seem to have loads of electronic knowledge sir! Thanks so much man! Appreciate these great video's. I'll be recommending your channel.. Are you in the GRMS forums by any chance? Thanks Tim (aka) WRZF 693 grms license. :-)

Tim! Thanks for the kind words and subscribing. I’ve worked in the industry since 99’ and I’m retired now (sort of). You should check out the HRCC (ham radio crash course) guy for portable solar recommendations and for studying for technician. He does a great job. Good luck on the test and hop to bump into you on 10m sometime.

@@JuliansRandomProject Thanks so much and I will check it out. I'm also retired. Just a couple months ago. Officially that is. I still work part time to help a friend and to keep busy. This radio thing though might be the hobby I need to help not be so bored.. Thanks again and I'll keep watching for your videos sir.. Tim

Did you test if the harmonics were unacceptable?
@JuliansRandomProject Жыл бұрын
Others have, with better test equipment than I have right now. May have to post a quick video showing harmonics. Good question.
