A Christmas Eve visit to the now-closed Transperience Discovery Park near Bradford. Trams, Trolleybus and motor buses are seen in action.

Always felt this place was a missed opportunity. Needed British trams and trolleybuses to attract the wider enthusiast community. It wasn't sign posted from the M62 either which didn't help advertise its existence. I went twice as a child and enjoyed the day out, but the place looked tired very quickly.

I visited Transperience with my grandfather when I was a teenager. I still have one of their leaflets somewhere (it's probably a collector's item by now), as well as a book from the gift shop. It was a fun day out for a bus enthusiast, but it was a very short-lived attraction. Much like Irvine's "Big Idea". Loads of money spent with no return on that investment.

Don't really remember anything from my school trip here, other than buying a pack of brandy snaps from the gift shop... Think that says a lot. That said, when somebody mentions Transperience it stirs positive memories somehow. Maybe it's nostalgia

What happened to the stored trolleybuses from this closed museum? Where they distributed to the other bus museums in the UK? So cool to see a Budapest tram in use in the UK, what a riot!

That looks like an absolutely gash day out.

Hi! I didn't see any contact info on your channel, so I figure I'll just leave a comment. I'm currently making an explainer video about Transperience and with this being one of the very few videos of the site whilst it was in operation, I would like to ask if you would be alright with me using it my video. Of course, if you don't give permission, I won't use it. Thank you, and I wish you all the best.

Thanks for asking - I'm quite happy as long as appropriate credits are given :)

I only heard of it after it had closed…..

Thanks for the upload. Perhaps if Low Moor station opened sooner, Transperience could have had better access.

That looked an exciting day out, said no one, ever, when I went the tram was out of service so it was even less exciting. A project doomed from the start I think, as it was Yorkshire's biggest secret, I only heard about it because my mother lived locally.

We need trolleybuses througout the UK. Their demise was a pandering to Big Oil

The Organisation behind the former Transperiance were lacking. It was a Sad ending. Visited when in use could've been a venue for many ideas. George Peace

This was an excellent concept, but badly managed and lacked publicity (I don't think it was even sign posted). If it had been run by volunteer enthusiasts it might have been a success. The employees didn't seem to have any knowledge or interest. A terrible waste of public funds - the purple tram/trolley poles sum up the place well!
