That greenhouse is so amazing. I saw a documentary how some germans got free "Abwärme" (waste heat) from some industrial building nearby so they could heat their tropical greenhouse all year for free. I wonder if theres any solutions for just passive heat to prevent frost at least.

Heat from power plants used to be easily obtainable since it usually went into the rivers but luckily now they use most of it for heating buildings. We are thinking about passive heating but all is work

I love everything from Blu. Their selection is incredible, the plants are always well taken care of and they have some of the best tasting herbs. If their location wouldnt be 2 Hours away from me i would apply as a trainee as an ornamental horticulturalist.

Nice info. In old Hawaii the rotten /composted inner core was applied to infected wounds. I guess the banana bacteria dominates the infection. This one makes me think of Enset.

In Bayern it died back to the base during winter. How is it supposed to grow and produce fruit in not even a year time outside?

@@allthefruit Yeah… Truly roads of death. My entire left arm and leg on which i landed is scratched up and swollen. Luckily not broken. My girlfriend who was driving has a fat wound in her left elbow which got stitched up. But we are definitely lucky.

Stay clean. Infections can be very dangerous there. In the jungle or the villages the smallest cuts get infected

Not sure what the point of this plant is. While it does grow banananas they are inedible. Perhaps animal fodder or something. Don't personally see the point of planting something like this just for something to look at. The fiber's are very strong I guess so perhaps you could make some form of textile from the fibers of the plant. Admittedly I am only half way through the video or maybe I missed the reason for planting it. After a bit of research only the leaves are edible, everything else is used for making textiles including the pseudostems that I remember you mentioned earlier and traditional medicine.

In Europe it is just used as an ornamental by people who live in harsh climates but want to grow bananas
