I've always believed that punk is being what you want to be, doing what you enjoy the most without caring about any expectations of the outsider world, being yourself enjoying the company of your comrades whether they are whatever they want to be. That is just my feeling.

It's really not all that complicated. Some people are just so fucking insecure and condescending and call people 'weirdos' for having tattoos, piercings or dyed hair. way back in the beginning of the Punk scene out here in SoCal the "Thugs" as you so ineptly put it, made up just as much of the Punk kids as anyone else and we all listened to ALL kinds of different music, did not limit ourselves to one flavor but took it all in. that is why we still have a scene and still crank out good bands.
