At 33:00 when you were upgrading the trains, there is a more efficient way to do it. As far as i can tell the trains dont have to be physically in the depot to edit them. If you send the trains to the depot and immediately pause the game, go to the depot and the trains should be ready to edit. Once you are done assign them back to the line and unpause the game.

I'm being picky, because I'm in grading brain. At 22:41 "Train Cargo" TC for the logs/planks/tools route "Rail Cargo" RC for the tools/town route I thought you were using "RC" in the other LPs for "Road Cargo"?

Yeah, can be confusing. And because the game considers passengers as a type of cargo in its windows and menus, I would go with "Freight" for the lines like Skye Storme: RF, TF, SF, AF (RP, TP, SP, AP)

Watching this I wish Transport Fever 2 would have a "blueprint mode", where you could plan out and easily modify infrastructure without actually using any money before you "commit it" and tell it to actually be built. As you're in this blueprint mode you could have a money spent summary with details. Actually wondering if any games like this have something like that, because I've never seen something like it in any game.
@KatherineOfSky5 жыл бұрын
I remember something like that, but I can't recall which game I saw it in. You could plan the whole structure out before committing to it, and it was a great thing for making sure stuff fit and how much it would cost. Will see if I can remember.

In Surviving Mars construction works a bit differently; you place a structure first and then drones will gather resources for it before building. In this way, you can plan out your dome layout before building it later on.
@PrimeNPC2 жыл бұрын
It's a completely different theme but still considered a management game with a extensive options for building, literally square by square. Prison Architect allows you to do this and the best part is that once you've blueprinted it all out and optimised the delivery bay (for building materials and all other deliveries) location you can then lay out the actual plans and watch in time-lapse fashion as your little workers, that you individually hire, go about building your prison from the foundations up

do industries need room to get larger when they level up or is it just a different graphic. Just wondered, watching the train platforms with the industries between it and a road, if there is any concern with restricting room to grow?

KOS halp! I'm having trouble with train cargo platform. I have 2 routes picking up bread from a plant, but the crates of bread all pile up on terminal 1 and terminal 2 gets a trickle. If I stop the trains and let the plant do its thing I end up with like 167 on on track and 20 on the other track. I can't find a setting to get the plant to supply goods for transport evenly across multiple cargo platforms? Any advice? I have lots of signals and can send both routes to the same track but the trains then stack up.
@KatherineOfSky4 жыл бұрын
As far as I can tell, there is no way to control this. (I've also consulted with others on the problem). Seems to be a major failing of the game: it doesn't make sense to me how everything is automatic and this portion of it doesn't really work

How come you don't just switch the train out when it's in motion? You don''t need to send them all back to the depot to do it, or is it for realism sake?
@KatherineOfSky5 жыл бұрын
It's cheaper to edit it in the depot than pay for all new loco and cars.
@JonathanCormier5 жыл бұрын
I wonder what the break-even is for replacing all trains in spot vs calling them back to the depot. While in the depot they aren't making any money, so replacing them probably isn't as expensive as it seems.
@KatherineOfSky5 жыл бұрын
Some of it also depends on how close they are to the depot, and if you have enough money to replace them. Editing a train individually is probably only useful in early game, since when it starts to snowball, you don't really care about the replacement costs.

why does the platform not share the resource? at 31.44 this is weird no?

The resources are designated for a certain station. Think of it as "The factory got 200 orders from Town A, and 60 orders from Town B", so they are being sent to satisfy particular customers.
