I've been spotting the Mariyung being pulled by a diesel loco around Clyde for a couple of months now - awesome to see it in action at Town Hall.

A handful of sets still get loco-hauled between some yards such as Lithgow and Enfield. It was great seeing one test through the city underground on this occasion

Not sure entirely but my guess is operational requirements. There has been at least 1 running T2/T8 services on weekends since 3yrs ago
