There is no need to worry when missing a train(when traveling among big cities) in China (except the holiday time,e.g. the new year holiday), there will be a train to your desitination within one hour (even a few minutes). If you miss your stop, don't need to worry either. Just find a staff. He/she will send you to a return train and it is free (as far as I remember). The trains in China seldom delay.

@@kind03cn I check the policy. You can change your ticket for free within two hours (from when the train left the platform ) to a later train. You have to go the ticket window/office to let the staff there to change it for you. There is always a ticket window within a train station.
