Omg this has been so damn helpful, especially where you went over which spots trap producers commonly put their kicks in. I often didn't quite know where they're supposed to go to sound good. Obviously, it's good to also try around a bit but it helps immensely to have some guidelines of where people tend to put them to make it sound good. Thanks a lot mate

Thanks for the valuable video. I'd like to ask you what do you mean by 2 in the 4 at 2:03 ?
@MelloDeeBeats3 жыл бұрын
First off, sorry for being late but I'll break this all down. A bar is one measure. A measure has 4 beats. If you open the piano roll in FL studio, set the tempo to 90 and turn on the metronome and press play , you'll notice it hits 4 times through the length of 1 pattern before it starts the patten over again. Each of those metronome hits are 1 beat, a bar or measure has 4 beats. The 2 and the 4 would be the second and fourth beats/metronome hits. Now if we look at what I'm doing by making the beat at the tempo of 130. If you listen to the metronome, it's going very fast. I'm making beats in double time, like most trap producers do. Instead of the bars being 4 beats at 130 tempo, they're 8 beats. When people hear it though , is gonna sound like 65bpm (half that). But if that's too confusing, forget double time. I place the snares on the third metronome beat of each piano roll patten on the piano roll (for tempos 120 and above.) I hope that helps. If not, feel free to ask more.
@darkkitchenrecords26253 жыл бұрын
@@MelloDeeBeats Thank you for taking time to answer my question. I am still confused because the clap is on the third beat of each bar, and I don't understand how it translates to "2 and 4 of each bar". Because when I hear "beat on the 2 and the 4" It's going to be 2 claps per measure, respectively on beat 2 and 4, instead of just one like you used. I tried to listen to metronome on 130bpm but all I heard were 4 beats, less spaced out than the 90bpm. But I don't understand how they're 8 beats?
