I love how your stories emphasize environment, the cities and neighborhoods these artists come from. Growing up in a crime and poverty stricken neighborhood has a huge influence on who you become.
@ViolentMLG4 жыл бұрын
Most definitely. That's why people call it systematic. I grew up in the hood and literally grew up glorifying gangs and violence. I joined the bloods, was ready to pop off and kill someone over nothing, I just needed the opportunity. I got kicked out of so many schools. Got in fights 24/7. By 10 years old I was taking knives to school. I even took some airsoft pistols to fire at the 'ops'. If I had a gun then, I already know id of killed somebody. I got caught up allot, caught some charges, but I got lucky for what it was, I think I got a break for the life I lead. I have no clue how I didn't end up dead or in jail. Eventually my mom moved us out the hood because her father died and she sold his home. That shit was for sure my savior. Instead of banging when I was bored I was playing cod. A guy I grew up with my entire youth who I consider a brother didn't share the same luck. My dude is beyond them 3 strikes, he recently got locked for meth posession. (selling). I look at him allot of the time and wonder about myself man. These streets are brutal.

@No No they're not as petty and know when and where to let things pop off! Getting ass hurt over peanuts isn't something you'll see a lot with them. Ego isn't something plays a part in how they do shit. Ive always been a hip hop/rap fan but som of these clowns are so fucking pathetic, they make it and still continue doing the same petty and laughable bs. Fun fact. Regent Park's project housing is the first one established in North America. That's right, the blue print for all the "ghettos" and "projects" known all across the USA started with Regent Park. Oh Regent Park is downtown Toronto. It's far from Jane & Finch where Driftwood is. J&F is the furthest up you can get before it's no longer Toronto.

@@MagimonOfficial Well, it depends on what you mean by that, as various ethnic groups in Africa who would be considered "black" today have had peaceful relations. However if you mean like "full racial unification", I can't name anything, in part because that depends on which groups in particular you define as black, and also because something of that sort never happens for any "race" as different ethnic groups within that race are bound to have tensions.

I live in Toronto and follow the rap scene here very closely. This video is well made and has the majority of the facts right, except I think Jane/Driftwood and Rexdale been going at it for like 20-30 years. Only critique is that you could have linked in the beef between Rexdale/Yung Lava (aka one of your most viewed videos!) and Driftwood. In his song Conversations you played, he says "That's why we put Mr. TT in critical"....Directly talking about Robin Banks getting paralyzed (Mr. TT is Robin Banks). Still crazy to watch the video of Houdini/Bvlly and Houdini/Pop Smoke from like 6 months ago when they were all alive. Keep up the content.
