In this intense adventure, we set out to camp in the snowy mountains at 2000ft elevation, but Mother Nature had other plans. Just as we got settled, a sudden snowstorm hit, bringing over 100 km/h winds that quickly destroyed our tent. With no choice but to evacuate, we found ourselves battling fierce winds and blinding snow as we navigated down the mountain, determined to make it to safety. Join us on this grueling journey as we fight against the elements, find a way off the mountain, and eventually secure a camp in a safer valley below. This was a survival challenge we won't soon forget!

Wow that's crazy, glad you guys are safe and had a beacon with you. But that would have been very scary. Thanks for sharing 👍

Thanks Jess, it was an experience to say the least, I wouldn't have even attempted this without a beacon or some sort of satellite communicator, main thing is we got down okay and learnt from it.

Didn't touch on the temps too much but would have come down to about -5 to -7 with wind chill (forecasted -4 in guthega itself, with a feels like temp of -8). I reckon feels like temps up on the ridge would have been close to -10. By far the coldest I've ever felt. Still looking forward to next time though!

Glad you are both safe. One tip used in northern Europe : always tie the tent to your backpack with a guyline when pitching it up. It won't fly away.

Great video Ryan and Daniel 👍Sounds like it was a bit of a learning curve for you guys. The wind was howling and that tent wouldn’t have been cheap either. Good advice on the in reach gps. Look forward to the next adventure mate 👍
