The Macclesfield canal brought back many happy memories of being taught how to manage a canoe properly when I was in the Scouts; we used to go from around Higher Poynton. I lived near Stockport. I've also been enjoying Dillon's antics and the extremely high quality and professional video and sound you have produced. The drone gives it another dimension and of course you have the photographer's eye for a good camera angle. Well done and thank you for all the historical and local information you give us.

I was born in Macclesfield and lived in Gawsworth for over 20 years (now live in France!) so loved this episode, it brought back a lot of memories including swimming in the canal when we couldn't catch any fish. (young and daft!) We always knew the grave as Maggoty Johnson's grave and the woods as Maggoty Johnson's wood and I spent many happy adolescent times there with various lady "friends" - just discussing the flora and fauna you understand! Thanks again for this video, all the best.

Hi, John 👋 It's actually toasty warm on the boat in winter. We have a multi-fuel stove and central heating. Right now it's 2c outside and 26c in the boat. We use heat powered stove fans to circulate air around the boat so it's nice and warm everywhere 🥵

My wife and I really enjoy your videos. In my role as president of the American Canal Society, I was given boxes of old Waterways World from the 1990's and early 2000's (actually someone just wanted to unload them and they said, let's give them to Mike). It is fun reading about how the various organizations are working to save these UK canals 30 years ago, and then here you are showing me the results of all that hard work. I reached into the box and pulled out the August 1999 issue and here was an article about the 30 year campaign to save the Bugsworth Basin! We had a comment the other day on Facebook about how American's should be using their canals rather then simply building parks around the old locks and remains. (sigh) Maybe someday. Cheers!
