Absolutely love seeing Ruben and big Timbo on all these trips with the boys, Ruben bashes panels in a freshly chopped car and just laughs about it and doesn’t let it phase him on camera and Timbo when his adrenaline kicks in going through a tough bit of track seeing him so pumped it’s awesome hope they are on the show for many many more years to come

Heads up to anyone in the same situation with welding on the side of the track. You are best to link two batteries in Series, not parallel. Three is best, but two will fully charged starter batteries will work. With the voltage doubled, you only need half the amps.

I sit and cry when I watch these awesome videos bc this is what I use to do all the time before I became disabled and can't hardly walk or stand now due to diabetes. Sometimes I put myself in with shauno going up some of these hills and camping wherever we stop. I had a awesome Ford explorer xlt with 35s and front and rear air lockers with dual front and rear winches rated at 50,000lb pulling power each. Yes I know they were way too much power but I was gaurenteed to get out from anywhere as long as there was a winch point. I had everything in that vehicle for recovery and camping but the sad part is I went through a creek very fast like a idiot and the water somehow got into the snorkel and sieze up the engine.All that put me out of work and I lost my job and ended up losing my drivers license to child support and etc. I couldn't afford to get it fixed so I sold it but I couldn't drive anyways. So now I watch you guys a dream of the good ol days. Keep the great videos coming.

Lost in the goldfields Western Australia, a short cut offered by the station owner, a couple of wrong turns saw us camped in the middle of who knows where, driving on tracks that looked like they where cut in by horse n cart, through spinafex as high as the bonnet, crawling along at 2kph on an old fenceline, in creekbeds. We came out on a gravel road and headed for our destination only to find ourselves in the middle of a 3000 head cattle muster with helicopters, 4x4's, motor bikes and cattle. We arived at camp 24hrs late with a 140k detours. Rig is a 2012 px2 ford ranger ( the dranger) with a 2in lift and suspension upgrade towing a black series hard floor camper, 2nd vehicle was a mistbishi pajero. Seriously luv the show keep it muddy guys.

24 volts works a lot better than 12 for welding, you'd also need different rods. Even better you can get small proper welders that will work with the big inverters you have in a couple of the rigs.

the boys need to go watch some trail mater! I got myself a china special 165mma/flux core mig that i use for fabrication in my driveway most of the time runs off a standard 10a socket. its about the size of a battery and as heavy as a large laptop. If i go remote, im packing it.
@agentcrm2 жыл бұрын
@@Weq5ter Yes it is a pity we don't get those compact onboard welders here. Not that they'd work easily with any of those rigs, with their computer controlled throttles. Yeah there's so many good compact welders out there these days it's a no brainer to pack one where you're going remote or extreme. The other thing I don't understand is why Reuben didn't do any work to the trailer before they left apart from larger tyres.
@peterrv9562 жыл бұрын
On your bush welding attempt, sethjxl comment earlier had it right. Connecting the two batteries in series, not parallel, will give you 24 volts and only need half the amps. Way back in 1989, I had to do just that on a trip back from Cape York, in my Subaru 4WD wagon, after the broken torsion bar repair using a piece of gum tree changed things, and the rear end started to crack the mounting points. It worked, the weld was still holding a couple of years later. Yes, it was a real adventure, I was on my own at the time,
