Honestly, I think calling it useless is unfair since it's different traps give it a variety of uses the first trap makes for excellent crowd control the bomb trap makes for good splash damage and defense melting and the bear trap makes for *incredible* stunning Obviously it's no accelerator but honestly I think its a very solid support tower, and for intermediate players especially it would be a very useful tower to have

It's a noob bait tower. The dps is terrible, and while I understand that having a safety in the back can be nice, if you invest in other towers the enemies will never make it there anyway. Up front it's completely outclassed too, so it's pretty useless.

from a small content creator to another. I feel as if the reason this tower is useless is obvious. The argument "Good for Intermediates" or "Place at back" gets thrown out because every tower can be placed at the back, not only this, faster than trapper ever could. Trapper's cap and low cooldown stop it from greatness heavily, and if I did place this god awful tower at the back, the content would be AWFUL. It's not good for even an intermediate player, as it does literally nothing, when I was an intermediate player I NEVER leaked, first thing I did when I got into tds was grinded for mini because it's a kickstarter. + Crook Boss and many other towers outclass this thing heavily.

@@chromivm yeah fair point. It's definitely not something one would use as a main support, but personally I still think it has lots of utility, and could prove useful in a squad game since not everyone needs to bring commander or DJ. In squad games I have found it helpful in case we were stupid and forgot to prepare against hiddens or fallen, or if we were just overrun by enemies that trapper came in clutch. Not an amazing tower but I think it's over hated

​@@noobnguyen4273 bro ots 3k not 8k besides its not very good for enemies but its still good defense and its a early defense tower minigunner is an mid early to mid unless you farm very minigun is a dps not support and trapper is pretty good if two players have it in fallen match me and my friends use trapper for support we did use dj in pizza party its a clutch because early is harder that late because you don't have thay mamy defense crook boss is still better than trapper ttapper is one of the only support that does dps the only other one is commander

Tbh this is what most of these type of towers suffer from: they just don't fulfill their roles -TDS trapper was made to kill any leak enemies that got past your defense. It has a variety of traps that serve different purposes: Spikes to chip down enemies' health, landmines for crowd-control and bear traps for stalling. This sounds good on paper, but the problem with trapper is its terrible dps. It just can't stand on its own, and can only kill very few enemies before running out of traps on the path. This also applies to Tower Blitz's Trapper. Low dps and niche usage, they just aren't really viable in any gamemodes. And this is where the main problem arises: Why do you waste money on backup towers to kill enemies that leak when you can just spend money on your main defenses in order to not leak? -TDX and BTD6 are the few games that actually make this kind of tower viable. Mine layer may have low dps and take a lot of time to throw their mines, its true power comes from the amount of mines it can throw on the field. If you stall and spam enough mine layers, the mines will completely destroy the bosses because of its insane damage. Spike factory is another good example, with each crosspaths serve a different purpose *In conclusion: Trapper is really only viable on early-mid game where it can actually kill some low health bosses, but is basically useless against major bosses because of its terrible damage and spike limits. If you are a new player, don't buy it.

While it’s still a C tier tower I think it can still be useful as its bear traps have the longest stun time, more then electro, freezer, etc. it’s C4 is also good for crowd control, it’s really more of a support tower then anything, get your 8 accelerators then place down some bear trap trappers basically.

its a situational tower, spikes for crowd control and basic damage (it also hits hiddens) but sucks if fodder or fast enemies run past. bombs work for big damage and defense melting (doesn't hit hiddens unless activated by other enemies) and bear traps are used to stall the big scary enemies that you don't want to lose to. overall id say its a decent tower for extra support (and pretty fun to use sometimes)

It's one of the better offensive support towers. The problem is that its a cleanup tower like mili base or elf camp. Not frontal defense.

Well i get your point, and yes i argee new player shouldn't buy this as first but for a guy who teamate always will leak stuff, i say this tower is not not horrible ( Like a B for me) some gamemode like Pollue Wasteland 2, so circuit or abomination can be leak but with bear trap in the back, it can be a life saver (you need to have Trapper tower in dps tower range tho) again your point is not wromg but i dont think it can be that horrible

now here’s the thing you got completely wrong, It’s not meant to be at the front of the path it supposed to be at the back or the middle and it’s a crowd control tower so of course it’s not going to do good against bosses. It can be a decent tower if you play it right.

Once again though, even if placed at back it does worst than other towers as they are quicker allowing for them to do more damage at the end of the day.

I guess that's a good tactic for beginners but if you got towers like Accel or Minigunners you're definitely doing something wrong if enemies got past your defenses at the front already.
