An archaeological study of Trapper’s Point in Sublette County helped researchers better understand wildlife movement along a major pronghorn migration corridor and helped facilitate new developments in methods of roadway safety for both motorists and wildlife.

Trappers Point is such a cool area. I spent about 10 days in the area this fall. I got to see so many pronghorn & photograph cow sorting from the Green River Drift. Trappers point is a lesson well learned out west. Future road route construction needs to be given more research to include wildlife activity. You have proved it can save money & lives in the long run.

Born in Lander, Wyoming in the late l940,s. I remember going hunting and fishing with my father and grandfather. I remember as kids we had so much freedom to play, creeks to investigate and 4th of July in Wyoming! My heart is still there! Love Wyoming and the people of Wyoming. The PBS channel allows me to refresh my memories there. My Mother and both sets of Grandparents are buried there.

Programs like this are why we need PUBLIC media in this country. No commercial station would have the inclination and/or resources to do these stories.

I am a native of the Pinedale area. I drove through about a year ago and saw the overpass. At first, I thought that the structure was kind of silly. On the other hand, I remember back in 1974 I hit a deer in my Triumph GT-6 and the animal nearly came through the windshield and probably would have killed or severely injured me if it had. The accident happened not more than a quarter mile east of the spot where the WYDOT Archaeologist, Julie Francis, was standing or about the Duck creek access. I now can't help but think that if the overpass' and/or under passes had been there, I would not have hit the deer or at least reduced the chance of an accident. I am sure that these structures save the animals, but I am also sure that they save human lives also.

As a Bondurant bus kid, and seeing all the dead animals on the road and on the sides of the road where this overpass is, I'm so glad it's there and that I don't have to worry about the animals crossing there like we did when we were kids.

I love all these videos about Wyoming. My dream is to someday live there. Just not sure what part of the state would be best for me yet. So I watch as many of these videos as possible to educate myself.

Never heard of the atlatl before. Guess you could use it during archery season. If you can get a pronghorn with it, you've earned it.

After working and recreating in WY for over 20 years, I've NEVER heard a Wyomingite call an antelope, a pronghorn. Now, I realize they aren't actually antelope, but that's what they call them here. Fittingly, the Latin name is Antilocapra Americana. That Latin name is a far stretch from pronghorn...
