You should have a carry box/crate for the birds when you want to reset trap. Putting them in a plastic bucket is cruel.

Bro.. love the pigion loft . I was trying to get into that as i have to buy birds at the trainer and it gets expensive. Trapping is super fun!!
@samuelmiller64573 жыл бұрын
Add perches to the holding pen you don’t need the buckets at all on the ferals as long as you aren’t keeping them to bred . I keep homers and have a 12 by 24 and a 8 by 12 loft if I wasn’t active in the racing side to wouldn’t need half of what I have but put some perches up on the feral side you’ll be good . You should get into racing locally be good content for the Chanel .

The ferals shouldn’t give your pet pigeons any sicknesses or diseases but if you overcrowd or cause any stress, be prepared for an outbreak. Canker is probably more common in young birds. It is a yellowish gunk that basically destroys their respiratory system

Omg This is horrible in so many ways. My heart is positively broken. Ruined my whole fuckin day. Yeh pigeons are free to trap and kill because of all the negative propaganda surrounding them. Pigeons are astonishingly intelligent, warm and loyal creatures who mate for life btw. Mon amie Cherie saved soldiers in world War 1 after being shot down in mid flight she still got back up and flew the message she had to deliver and saved her entire group of men that would have otherwise been lost. She was awarded a metal and her body resides in a museum. Yet her kind has been hunted for fun to extinction. Pigeons can and have been trained to detect cancer in lab slides. There are many other ways to keep them away. One main way is to be a cleaner person and not leave open garbage and food scraps out.. They nest where there is food available. Remove the food source and they will leave.. simple.. kind.. instead youre terrorizing them. You crushed ones head thoughtlessly. You're going to let them be horribly abused, injured and killed for sport.... wow.. how can you have experienced these amazing birds as pets and then just go condemn the others to such a painful and terrifying end for cash and think nothing of it?? This is absolutely monstrous. May karma repay you all.

You should know that commie birds will not go through a trap door like the one on that second trap. Racing as well as normal homing pigeons have to be trained to do so.. They are way leery about going through that swinging gate.

Add a block to the ledge of that one trap and put some frozen peas on the block it they have already found your trap they just need that block for a beeter ledge then they should walk right into your homade trap to get the corn the peas will get them to the block then the corn will do the rest ..

Your pet pigeons are really close to the feral ones. Some diseases are carried in the dander. You need to move them away from your pet birds. As they are currently housed , you may as well let them all live together. I’ve been a pigeon fancier for over 30 years.

Broadcast some food around the second trap, and put some on the landing board. It's something fairly new in their environment so if you wire the door open for a couple of days to a week, they'll see it as a source of food. Then go back to trapping as normal.
