The Dune is like a classic mid range. Doesn't have the glide like my Hex but seems to stay in my bag.

Glad it’s working out for ya!

How would you say the Dune compares to the Comet? To my eye, it seems more stable. Both need a bit of height to really get out there. Any overlap, or would you say it's closer to a Buzzz?

I can definitely see similarities to the Comet. You are right that they both need a lot of room to work. The Dune isn’t nearly as stable (overstable) as the Buzzz, but doesn’t have as much drift/gentle turn during the flight like the Comet. Would almost call it a floaty Buzzz SS.

being in the northeast where we have alot of wooded shots, I find the meteor/Hex combo doesn't leave room for the Dune.

There definitely would be some overlap.

I have a tendency to overthrow my target in disc golf so that tendency to just “drop” may serve me well?

If you have low ceiling or just throw the disc low, then it might help!

Left to right movement, including end flight fade, during high and low speed portions of flight, are perhaps the most understood aspects of disc behavior, but I’ve seen almost nothing about up and down disc behavior. I have a hunch that discs whose high speed and low speed left to right behaviors are the same operate more like the Dune, and the more difference there is the less they behave like the Dune. Something else I also wonder is if there’s a speed component to glide. Maybe you need to hit a certain launch speed for the advertised glide to actualize, and that speed isn’t determined solely by the glide number but instead rim width and left to right behavior at high and low speed.
