Yeah, how can they even compare chaining tekken combos which relies on knowing which set of buttons to press at the exact time to just pressing a single button and a single direction at any time you please? Ridiculous. Mario Kart drifting is like jumping over a 1 foot tall boundary. Sure, babies can't do it, but once you get old enough, if you can't manage it, you're probably a vegetable. I haven't seen a dark souls player who could do a hitless run who couldn't figure out drifting in Mario kart. Ridiculous. It's making me angry.

Tbh I see it as Joey being pretentious af for the most part, and a lot of time I’ve caught Garnt siding with Joey even if he had a different opinion as first cuz he’s easily persuasive and wants to be among the majority. dude, that gatcha argument is so dumb, because its a system that is obviously made to expliot addictive behavior, that is the point, buyers remous comes only after it has overidden sunk cost falacy, which garnt is obviously still in because the amount he has spent hasnt negatively impacted him enough yet. CONNOR IS 100% IN THE RIGHT, you can joke about the "haha we gonna spent some money pulling waifus haha" but at the end of th day yes it is their responcibility to inform people that its addictive and gambling and that its something to be avioded. Garnt however makes videos where spending stupid amounts of money on this shit is the premise.

20:45 The boys have decent points at certain segments of this argument but I feel that they might've gotten too off-topic when it came to what they were arguing about. Connor talking about people that quit the moment when they need to put in effort into something is a rather broad topic/lesson and he speaks truth about that. In order for people to improve, sometimes one has to go through things that make them uncomfortable, doesn't have to be all the time but it is indeed a pivotal part to living a decent life Imo. Unfortunate that Joey and Garnt weren't able to extrapolate the core message of his statement and assumed he's getting mad at people about Mario Kart when it was simply the attitude they were displaying, it just so happened that gaming was a close subject. Joey and Garnt do provide a good point in that for some people, drifting or learning a new move in a game may be out of their comfort zone or is something that's harder for learn especially for a casual gamer that doesn't focus on improving or honing their craft and simply wants to have fun for the sake of it. Conclusion is that the friends that Connor was playing with might have not been as concerned with improving especially if we were to factor in what video games might be to them. They might have not been as passionate about them hence the lack of wanting to learn, especially if they wanted to just chill and vibe but in general- Connor's point of wanting to improve in things one is passionate about is something that I feel a lot can resonate with, I know I do at least

Connor's looking for the vibe in the wrong place. One Piece's vibe isn't in a random panel from an action sequence, One Piece fights are built on investment in characters and knowing their allegiances, backgrounds, their place in the wider world and their ideologies and enjoying the conflict between them. But you can easily find the vibe of One Piece in the world building panels, in the panels where you see the Strawhats discover a new island and see the otherworldly nature of it, when they first see Zou and see a city on the back of a giant elephant with beast people on it living in the fruits of giant trees. Imo of course.
@architchaphekar33214 күн бұрын
@@morlun838 yeah agreed, plus connor just doesnt like to commit that much into any series or even games and thats totally fine but that means he wont enjoy one piece that much. People have for sure overhyped one piece for him and I feel like rather than him enjoying the series, he'll constantly nitpick stuff thats not even important. His recent take on wukong was like that too. He didnt play the game at all but was comparing it to elden ring for some reason, just grasping at straws for not liking something.

@@morlun838 You misunderstood "The Vibe" argument, he explain it like crap but what he meant is that if they get show you any image,panel or whatever of a show what is your first impression of what you think the show is, lets keep using Berserk and One Piece as examples, at just a first glance with Berserk what i felt that it was a dark show with a serious plot, lots of violence and a lot of trauma, when for me at first glance One Piece look liked a goofy pirate show for kids, it doesn't tell me that it has a really well constructed plot and world, and that's the Vibe and the reality is that the Vibe will be different from person to person.
