The hump is actually supposed to be the horse's forelock. The hair between their ears that you see from the front. Love your videos.

LOL....it's so funny, because I couldn't figure out for the life of me.....why! Why is there this hump? It looked so odd to me... like a bulging tumor on his forehead! LOL...now I know. You might want to try Durham’s Water Putty. It’s cheap, easy to use, and works really good.

ANother product that's really cheap and paintable..not so much stainable..is Durham Water Putty! I use it a lot and have for years. It's amazing stuff and you only have to mix up what you need with water! It comes in a huge tin and it's powder.

Have you ever tried Durhams water putty?? You mix water with the powder to the consistency that you want. I fillin a couple hearts and it works great. Really inexpensive too!! A piece of cardboard instead of tape will help too!!

Thanks for the Durham Putty tip, my Mom actually uses it and swears by it. It definitely would have been less expensive to use than the magic sculpt...that's for sure! I loved when you and your Mom went shopping at Goodwill. I used to drag my daughter around and now she drags me around. I had a shop in Imlay City it was paperbacks and antiques. that was years ago and then I went on to big stores and now my daughter and I are in a shop with a booth. I hope someday she can do videos. Your Mom looks like a sweetheart I am 85 and still into it. I loved when she said wait to hear the wheels of the cart coming out at Goodwill. Your prices there are really reasonable you are both lucky.

You know...I would have passed them by too, however, when I seen them done up on Facebook Marketplace for $30 and they looked so chippy and farmhouse....I thought, "I have to have a horse!" Hi Kelly! Loved everything as usual!! Love the hobby horse it is so adorable!! I looked up LemiShine because I haven't seen it before. I love anything citrus scented. The description said it kills 99.9% of bacteria! What a bonus! Also wanted to suggest to you that you order a can of Durham's water putty. It's a powder you mix with water to your desired consistency and it dries rock hard and sands easily. Best part is that it is dirt cheap. Been around forever and a best kept secret. As soon as it catches on the price will triple so grab it quick lol Jo

I also told her about durhams water putty before I read your comment!! I use Lemishine powder in my dishwasher in the little extra cup on the door and my 7 year old stainless steel dishwasher looks brend new!! It keeps the hard water from forming on your dishwasher door and helps keep it clean!! I have a standing order with Amazon to get 2 containers every 2 months!! I LOVE it. Have been using it for years and so far no problems with it at all!!!👍👍

AwHHhhh...thank you, Jo! Yea, during the pandemic when the shelves were bare....the LemiShine was the only thing available, so I bought it. Normally I use Windex...that's all I've ever used. OMG...that LemiShine...didn't have that chemical smell...it was lemony fresh...non toxic and worked as good as Windex! I liked it BETTER than Windex! I don't know if it's a new brand or has been around for years...but, I want for it to be around, so I thought I would tell people about it! I bought mine at Kroger, like I said...it was the only thing on the shelf. I didn't know that it kills 99.9% of bacteria, too.....just another reason to love it! As far as, the Durham's....my Mom actually uses it and that would have been more economical for sure! I really like using DAP plastic wood putty though....it's really good stuff, but I just didn't know where it was, so I pulled out the magic sculpt. I should probably leave that just for appliqué pieces, though...because it's so expensive! Like my Mom says..."If you were organized you'd be able to find things!" I think she's right! I’m so glad you did that little horse! I see them all the time and pass them up and if I had gotten one I would have kept the mane or tried to replace it. It’s so beautiful like that. I would even pay $30.00 for it. I do have some small table top horsies that are similar or like carousels horses. I won’t be passing them up anymore!

I love Shipsewana, Indiana! I have the Mitten Cupboard from back in the '80s, and have been wondering for years if that style would ever come back in because it has sentimental value for me. Have you ever used wood bondo? I used it to repair some dry rot on the bottom trim of my garage trim and it stands down just like wood and hardens within minutes. I love the stuff. I'm a Michigander also...not to far from Lapeer. I'm in Grand Blanc. I usually hit Salvation Army on Sashabaw Rd , Clarkston and in Rochester. Been to the Goodwill in Goodrich a lot....can always find good stuff. Goodwill in Holly is also good, as is Fenton. Been to Romeo's Salvation Army and found good stuff as well.

Kelly, what great finds n really cute ideas you did there. Love em all. Like the frame one with the mirror image but wouldn’t had been easier to have painted the frame first, just curious 🤨. The horse oh my goodness I’ve got one almost like it. I think I found it at goodwill too. My horse is the color of wood n it’s base is white n has cute metal wheels. I decided not paint mine as the base is white n wheels are black. I like just as is but yours turned out so good. Did you know that you cute off part of his mane actually his bangs LOL. Hi Shelly! Yea, normally I would paint the frame first and take out the glass, however, when I saw the staples on the back of the frame and found it hard to even get the picture out....I knew I would not even attempt to pull out the glass! It was just too tight in there and I thought it would crack, so at that point....it didn't matter if I painted the frame first or last....the glass wasn't coming out. You know? Anyway, about the horse.....you have a horse with WHEELS....oh that has to be AWESOME!!!! A base with wheels in my opinion is even better than a rocker!!! NICE!!!! And, yes...everyone is letting me know that it was the mane! LOL Now, that you said that...I can totally see it, but at the time it looked like an odd tumor! u can also make a paste with toilet paper moist and place some glue put it inside the hole and let dry then apply the other product...even bondo will work...

Where do you live? Going to Flea Markets are my FAVORITE thing to do! I love walking around there and finding $5, $10 items...it's so much fun! It's like treasure hunting! We fill up our car! I'm sooo surprised that there wasn't a lot of things at the flea market you went to, but don't give up! You know...some of the flea markets are duds. My Mom and I have went to some and we just look at each other like this was a waste of time, but then you go to another one...and you find that you run out of money and you don't how you're going to get all the items you bought home! LOL Talk to people and ask them....what's the best flea market? Word of mouth...will help you avoid some of those duds! Hope that helps! You have a GREAT weekend! XOXO

The one I saw on Facebook Marketplace was $30-...it was a little bigger. Anyway, I would definitely paint yours and distress them...the will look AWESOME! I bought the lemon cleaner at Kroger. I LOVE it!!! It smells so lemony fresh. I won't go back to Windex!

do you seal when you're done distressing?

Chris tina...I did not seal those pieces in the video, however, with the little bench....you definitely could do that with some wax or polyurethane if you think you're going to be using it a lot of it's going to be on a porch. As far as, the frame or the horse that I distressed...no, you really don't need to seal those. I mean...you can if you want to, but it's not necessary. Hope that helps! She asked for suggestions all the time. I don't think that frame is a little more Victorian. And fancy to do with the country saying, you need something a little rougher. Maybe if it was just without the scallop design on it and the sand it a little bit run, make it look older it would be better

Poor horse, it has no mane now. It ended up looking more like a dog. You could of just fill in the gap with pudding you used for the little table...

That primitive frame does not go with country it would be nice if you had a country frame but that's just my opinion I'm a seventy-two-year-old great-grandmother and I've done country for years and the leison all that stuff in that frame doesn't go with the country theme
